That statement might have some relevance if you were speaking the truth. However, since you're actually just posting your opinions, (and trying to pretend it's the truth, or possibly are unaware that you don't know what the truth actually is), it has no relevance whatsoever.

Sorry

I really think you're either overvaluing the impact of this report or undervaluing the importance of the draft.

I believe the chances of the Wells report overshadowing the draft are right around zero.

Exactly. They don't want to see that repeated. Obviously they had zero control over the original report on this issue, so if they were going to exercise control over the release of the report (which I do not believe they will) then they wouldn't want a repeat of the Super Bowl where a major event got overshadowed by controversy.

Why do you say that? As others have mentioned, this whole controversy overshadowed the Super Bowl. I'd say the Super Bowl is a bit more of an attention-getter than the draft, wouldn't you?

I think the media will enjoy going after the league office if it is shown that the league office acting inappropriately. That's actually a pretty big fish to fry.

huh? that was the highest rated superbowl ever, thanks to the controversy. you can expect stuff like this to be an annual event. for this reason, you can expect the report to be released a week before opening night, just to hype the game.

You mean the SB game that was just voted the best game in NFL history?

I didn't think it came anywhere close to overshadowing the game. Leaks were rampant in the run up to the game and got a lot of attention but once Kraft and BB gave their pressers, within days deflategate deflated quickly. Even Al Michaels & Collinsworth barely mentioned it during the telecast.

People now know it's much about nothing. The draft will help smother any bad PR from Wells' report without any question. It's PR 101 to divert attention using something bigger when possible.

That was two months ago.

And honestly I don't think it overshadowed the SB at all. Perhaps the lead up to the game but once the game started the focus was almost exclusively on the game.

The NFL would not want to overshadow their own event with this controversy.
Didn't watch more than a half hour total of March Madness and faith is not easy to me so I didn't care much at all about either.

Had the news broken then I likely would have attempted to try and read the whole report.

The draft would bury this story.

I completely disagree. It'll lead the network out of draft hours, but during the draft Eisen & Mayock & Deion will still own the hours.

You should educate yourself regarding how you come across. You might not be so angry all time. (To paraphrase you from another thread).

Gimme a break. Cris Collinsworth could hardly go 5 minutes without telling us all about his interview with Tom Brady and the whole "look me in the eye, Tom!" routine he gave.

And you must not have seen Kraft accept the trophy from or heard his quick speech. You could cut the tension with a knife there. That was as icy as I've ever seen an owner who just won a championship probably in the history of sports.

NO it had to be mentioned. The " I asked Tom to gaze lovingly into my in the eyes" Collinsworth crap was stolen right out of the Blues Brothers Brady is Jake, Jake is Brady!!

and if the BS leading up to is was not such a hot topic all the non-football fans would not have cared but the hate in the media created an audience and Thomas144 is correct (I CAN"T BELIEVE I TYPED THAT) this type of controversy will dominate the next few SB's.

and you really are coming across as an arrogant know it all who will not allow anyone else to have an opinion... stop trying to BUlly us!!!
