Some of the Pats pre 2007 offenses were better than some people give them credit for. To this day no offense of theirs was better in my book that the 04 offense. And that offense had only 1 decent pass catcher at TE (Fauria).
I disagree the 07 offense was better, you guys are going too much on one game and saying that is what that offense was, and that is not how it is. What you are forgetting is that you have to play an entire season, would that offense in 03 or 04 with the last 3 years of defense have went 14-2?

I'm not going off 1 game. The 04 offense was their best IMO. "Better" to me means more dimensions, so harder to shut down. Their best two playoff games back to back was the 04 team where they ball controlled their way to a W over the prior "best offense" the Colts, then turned around and poured on the points vs the #1 defense in Pitt. And I think that if any of the Pats SB losing teams, the 10 team and this year's team would have had that offense, they would have not been so one dimensional and easy to defend. So yeah, I think they would have had a good shot. Have you forgotten that the 07 Pats defense gave up only 17 PPG? And this year's defense was top 10 I think in PA?

I disagree with it was the best offense. I also do not think if the 04 offense had a 29th ranked passing defense, they would win the superbowl. The 2007 team lost one game on a miracle drive, I hope that is not your argument.

One game is not my argument for why that offense was my favorite. Please reread my post.
29th? That must be yards. I don't rank defenses or offenses by yards. Ever. Wanna check what the 01 defense was ranked at by yards vs points? What about other BB defenses yards vs pts?
The 07 team lost because their offense underperformed. Woefully.

I think that game was lost right on the line. I still wonder to this day if guys were playing hurt, or what the deal was. There were no fancy schemes by the Giants or anything involved. They just lined up and made our o-line their beeyitch, all day long.

I guess, I don't know....being a Patriots fan means not knowing anything about those kinds of things. Maybe bill will write a book someday. I guess its a blessing and a curse.

The 07 team lost because of a late drive that to this day I cannot explain how it was done, you are being too simplistic.....games are not that way. We took a lead late and then lost the the lead on the next drive. Our offense struggled, but came up big late in the game to take the lead, our defense played good played well and then lost the lead late in the game. I do not remember people blasting our defense after the 2003 season because we gave up 29 points in the superbowl. Winning takes care of things....a 17-14 win over the titans in the playoffs is not ripped apart because our offense did not score 40 points....if Eli is sacked, or samual catches a pass, we are not blasting the 2007 team, we are calling in the greatest team ever made. One drive does not take that away for me, thats just my opinion. Of course I do not crown a new elite QB every week, or now call a player clutch because he had a good playoff series, it goes a bit beyond that.
