This situation falls under exception 4, "exigent circumstances". If the homeowner is harmed (no way to know if they're just not home or unable to respond due to harm or duress), taking the time to get the warrant jeopardizes their safety. If the home is being robbed, taking the time to get the warrant risks the perpetrator getting away.

Either way, the alarm gives them probable cause of a crime in progress (they don't need certainty or proof just reasonable suspicion), and they can enter to verify the home isn't being robbed, and the homeowners are not in danger. They can't then search all they want, but if it's in plain view, they can act on it. That's how the law works, and that's not new, it's been that way for a Long Time.
Also, something that most people will never ponder...who else can see your security video(s)? Where does the info go?

Can we list the Patriot scandals during the Super Bowl dynasty years: Deflate gate, video gate, Aaron Hernandez, Massage gate, a string of PEDs and now a cocaine charge.
Did I miss any

If that is the case, Chung should volunteer for a test on his hair which will retain traces of the drug for months or even years.

We'll see how it goes. It is what it is.
Not even close to staying in your hair for years. Cocaine stays in your urine for 4 days, blood for up to 48 days and hair up to 90 days.

Chung's not going to plead guilty even if he did it, way too much for him to lose. Let the cops do their job and prove he did it or not. Anything else is just speculation.

If the DA tries and pin this on him he’ll look foolish. I’m sure they want the spotlight of a celebrity trial, but with others at the house, Coke not on his person, and him out of state there is no way to convict. Lost cause.

Schrutestradamus: Chung refuses any plea put forward. 11th hr case dismissed.

I'm going with a fall guy coming forward, like a cousin's boyfriend's brother-in-law.

In the upper mid-west somewhere along the Canadian border.

Good old benzoylecgonine can be detected longer than 4 days depending on length of use, metoblism and a bunch of factors.
