He doesn't even try to hide his reaction any more.

I think Dorsett is close to the edge now. He just can't seem to go after a contested ball. He could end up on the outside looking in if he can't make a couple of tough catches before long.

You don't want to be in Brady's Pit of Misery. Not a smart career move.
This. Rep. He used to just throw to the open guy.

Otoh, we only saw what Brady wanted us to see in TC. Closed practices could be a lot different.

I thought AWTE put the kibosh on the "Brady doesn't throw to the open guy anymore!" talk.

IIRC, the high points were that read priority is earned not merely by Brady's trust, but in coaches film review, too. Additionally, the receivers have been more top heavy in the latter half of Brady's career. Instead of having 4-5 guys who are all relative equals, there are guys that trust, production and film review elevate to the top, who then consistently create enough separation such that no further field scanning is necessary.

I highly doubt there are open receivers running the correct routes that Brady just refuses to pass to.

Brady absolutely has his favorites...Gronk. Edelman. White. Hogan. After them, then you will have to earn your reps.

Obviously you have to run the correct routes as well...that is part of the deal.

A good receiver makes a QB look good, or better.
I'm reminded of Marino raging at the sideline @ his receivers in his latter years, too. I believe many QBs, after starting for many years, tend to lose patience with inefficient or sloppy receivers.

Thatís all well and good. And perfectly understandable.

But heís already without JE for 4. If something happens to Gronk or White heís gonna be wishing he had this time back.

Really?

Ok.

Well, here goes. Brady does throw to the open guy. Often. And he does tend to get fixated on a player or two far more often than early in his career. Now maybe thatís due to priortization due to the ability to quickly get open(JE) or by virtue of being practically uncoverable(Gronk).

My point is now they are definitely minus JE for 4. Should something happen to Gronk or White heís virtually single handed with little to no repoire with the other pieces on the offense.

The early years had 5-6 guys with similar numbers. Built in insurance. I donít know how theyíd function now.

So, he will stop passing if he hasn't worked significantly with a player?

Either someone will rise to the occasion or not, but he is still throwing the ball to whoever is open or whoever has the mismatch. He will let the chips (footballs) fall where they may.

I think a lot of the disagreement is its the off-season and with nothing to talk about we are arguing about dumb stuff. There's guys who get open through being smart knowing the offense and taking what the system gives them based on the def, and there's guys who get open based on individual talent and domainemce. Then there's the rare player who can do both. Brady typically as we all know prefers the former not the latter. He's had two guys who can do both in moss, and Gronk, and we all know how that's worked out. That 06 team was the one year he didn't have much of anything, and they still should have beat the colts in that AFC championship. Jeez...... that one was as bad as any super bowl loss. The winner of that game was a lock to beat the bears. Not to bring up old memories, I'm just rambling

I have a real soft spot fo Dez. I don't know why. But that's why even though my heart loves the idea of him and Gronk in the red zone, my head knows it will never ever work

I remember watching that game and thinking it is slipping away. I expect that is how the Falcons fans felt. The Colts game was an exciting game with a lousy ending.

Lock to beat the Bears? I believe that too.

You are presuming that the numbers reflect an inability or unwillingness to distribute more evenly, which is the very presumption AWTE was disputing.

Well that would presume the next guy up, should something happen to Gronk or White, is simply plug and play. That doesnít speak very much to chemistry and repoire. So if thatís the case why was it such a point of emphasis in the past to have The Circle of Trust work summers out in Cali? Or pound sessions at the Ranch in MT? Now that stuff is meaningless? Players with little to no experience in the system or with Tom can simply fill the role of #2WR?

I disagree.

I believe all that stuff and time mattered. I think it brought a level of familiarity and trust. I think the extra work and commitment to craft is really what separated Tom.

Are you ready to give up your life? Cause Iím ready to give up mine.
