For those interested...the first IG release...

https://static01.nyt.com/files/2018/...abe-report.pdf

Haven't read it yet, so no comment from myself, just thought folks should see it.

EDIT: One interesting tidbit....as I read....the report keeps referring to "PADAG", the Associate AG. I'm not sure, but I think this refers to Matthew Axelrod, who served under Yates, and when she got fired he immediately moved to a Big Time White Collar Crime defense firm, "Linklaters".
I wonder....if I Google "Clinton" and "Linklaters"...I wonder if anything will come up. Somehow, I suspect the Clintons are clients of LinkLaters. Could be wrong...just musing as I read the report.

EDIT 2: Wow...so, McCabe is leaking to the WSJ to counter some of the damning information coming out, then denies he did it, and THEN he has the balls to bitch out the NY-ADIC for his own leaks, to try to blame them for it, but blew it because there was information in the article that the NY-ADIC didn't have! Why blame the NY-ADIC one might wonder? Because they were leading the Clinton Foundation investigation. That is some serious chutzpah right there! That is so appalling, it's appealing! McCabe leaks to the press to cover his ass, and then uses those very same leaks to try to pin it on the group investigating the CF to try and discredit them or get them fired! Holy shi*t....the balls of this guy. I guess that shouldn't shock me for a guy drinving a $300,000 car setting up a legal defense fund for himself so he can exploit the suckers that, well....deserve to be exploited, frankly.

A few key excerpts (sorry, just reading it in between other things I have to do, so it's choppy);

We concluded that McCabe lacked candor on four separate occasions in
connection with the disclosure to the WSJ. Three of those occasions involved his testimony under oath.
- p.22

That's seems to be the crux of it....but there was a lot of delay, deny, and stonewalling in the course of the investigation.

Excerpts;

Lack of Candor with Then-Director Comey on or around October 31, 2016

As detailed above, Comey and McCabe gave starkly conflicting
accounts of this conversation. Comey said that McCabe “definitely” did not tell Comey that he had authorized the disclosure about the PADAG call. To the contrary, Comey told the OIG that, on or about October 31, McCabe led him to believe “in form or fashion” that McCabe did not authorize the disclosure about the PADAG call to the WSJ. Comey described how McCabe
gave Comey the impression that McCabe had not authorized the disclosure
about the PADAG call, was not involved in the disclosure, and did not know how it happened. By contrast, McCabe asserted that he explicitly told Comey
during that conversation that he authorized the disclosure and that Comey agreed it was a “good” idea.

.................................................
Sixth, no other senior FBI official corroborated McCabe’s testimony that, among FBI executive leadership, “people knew that generally” he had authorized the disclosure. Rather, multiple witnesses identified by McCabe told us that because of the information contained in the WSJ report, they did not believe it was an authorized disclosure. They also said that had they heard about such an authorization they would have recalled it because it would have been so unusual. Other than Special Counsel, no witness we interviewed told us that they knew that this disclosure had been authorized at the time.
............................................................................................
Lack of Candor in Interview under Oath with INSD Agents on May 9, 2017

We concluded that McCabe lacked candor during an INSD interview under
oath on May 9, 2017, when he falsely told the agents that he had not authorized the disclosure to the WSJ and did not know who did.

............................................................................................
Lack of Candor in Interview under Oath with OIG Investigators on July 28, 2017

We concluded that McCabe lacked candor during his OIG audio-recorded interview under oath on July 28, 2017, when he falsely stated that: (a)he was not aware of Special Counsel being authorized to speak to reporters around October 30 and (b) he did not know, because he was out of town,
“where [Special Counsel] was or what she was doing” during the relevant
time period.

...................................................................................................
Lack of Candor in Interview under Oath with OIG Investigators on November 29, 2017

We concluded that McCabe lacked candor during an OIG interview under oath on November 29, 2017, when he falsely told the OIG in a recorded interview that: (a) he told Comey on October 31, 2016, that he (McCabe) had authorized the disclosure to the WSJ and that Comey agreed it was a “good” idea; (b) he did not deny to the INSD agents on May 9 that he had authorized the disclosure to the WSJ; and (c) the May 9 INSD interview occurred at the end of an unrelated meetingwhen one of the INSD agents pulled him aside and asked him one or two questions about the October 30
article.

.............................................................................................
C. Conclusion

As detailed in this report, the OIG found that then-Deputy Director Andrew
McCabe lacked candor, including under oath, on multiple occasions in connection with describing his role in connection with a disclosure to the WSJ, and that this conduct violated FBI Offense Codes 2.5 and 2.6. The OIG also concluded that McCabe’s disclosure of the existence of an ongoing investigation in the manner described in this report violated the FBI’s and the Department’s media policy and constituted misconduct.
The OIG is is issuing this report to the FBI for such action that it deems to be appropriate.

McCabe's goose is cooked. Even if he avoids prison, his reputation for lying, and his lack of value in government influence, presents him with little opportunity for deep state work going forward. Maybe he can get a job at CNN or something that pays. That's probably his best bet. Maybe the Wall Street Journal!

So if a group of liberal democrats with no standing decide to issue a statement demanding an impeachment of Trump will it get the same treatment.

I read a lot of BIG HEADLINES about this and then I read the text.

Articles of Impeachment have been brought many times by democrats already. They introduce it about once a month, I think.

I really don't understand why you think they have no standing. That's kind of silly, given all of the congressional investigations involved.

11 Conservative Republicans acting independently "demand" an investigation is exactly the same as the 10 or so liberal democrats who demand articles of impeachment once a week, which is to say they both mean nothing.

They're not demanding an investigation, they are demanding charges be filed. They have...what was it...1.3 Million documents or something that would presumably support those charges, which they gathered in the course of conducting the investigation assigned to them.

It's not the same thing at all.

OK, when charges are filed or a special investigator named I will certainly be interested.

When a full committee recommends charges that's something real.

It's amazing how these partisan demands and allegations are "real" when the entire Mueller investigation is a fraud.
