I seriously hope so, but I got a weird feeling. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the league does infact have pocket aces and I'm less convinced that they don't now then I was before.

I think they will throw all kinds of stuff at the Patriots. They've spent too long on this investigation, it's inconceivable that they will present to the press, nothing. They would be a laughing stock. So they'll present something, "at Game X two years ago, officials discovered footballs that were under-inflated as well but nothing was further reported which was a mistake."

Or an unidentified team reported in a game with the Patriots on date XX in the XX season that a significant amount of balls were under-inflated, on further investigation it was decided not to take the matter forward"

In other words, they"ll actually have nothing, no real proof but they will present a report on other teams claiming there were under-inflated balls so as to present the impression that there is something clearly there with the Patriots but we have no real proof. They will do this knowing full well that this will stick to the Patriots for a very long time and they'll give us a token fine as well.

Think about it, Wells and co have been interviewing other teams about the patriots.....you think there'll be ANY objective comments from them? We've already heard from a swathe of GMs and ex GMs about how the "Patriots are always up to something".

Get ready, it's going to be a disgrace what happens. All the hurt, the anger the hatred will come boiling to the top.

The only aces the league could have would be the records of the balls taken out of play by the refs during the season. Supposedly if a ref decides a ball doesn't meet specs during the game the ball is removed from play and taken to the league for further examination. Which in and of itself is ridiculous because they don't record the the actual PSI so..not sure what the record would even indicate or even if records are kept of those balls. Could the Pats have had more balls turned in then other teams certainly a possibility. But the 2 balls from the Indy game in November that supposedly got the Colts attention are not part of that collection because the player already stated he has them at his house. Considering the Colts have claimed that the Pats balls were not up to specs at the game in Indy and the Ravens made a claim that the Kballs were flat they would indeed be checking prior games. Could another team have made mention sure, but the refs are the sole judge of the balls. So unless the refs took a ball out of play during that game they don't have a leg to stand on.

I have know idea how this will all play out but I also think it's going to be pretty hard to determine anything without absolute proof.

Yeah but many of the theories that are being thrown out are based on supposition and rumors. We're all taking at face value that the original ball pressure was 12.5psi but it's up to the officials to determine what if the officials took it upon themselves to inflate all of the balls to 13.5psi. I'm not saying this is what happened, I'm just saying this could be what happened and there may be no public knowledge of it.

Again that may be true but there is no written record of them doing so. The Colts claim they made the complaint and had the ball that is in the leagues hands. My question is why re-inflate all the other balls and keep just that one if they really thought something was amiss. Why not take all 12 balls used in the first half and use the remaining 12 backup balls?

If the NFL doesn't work with the fact of the environment and PSI then it truly is a sham of an investigation

Do we really know that?

It doesn't take proof. You don't think ESPN won't spend the entire time between the draft and OTAs hammering the Patriots if it turns out that two or three teams told Wells, "The balls are always soft when we play the Pats."

When it comes to the Pats, proof isn't needn't. Hell, fans of other teams still believe we taped a Rams walk through. Hines Ward said of the 2001 AFCCG that he wondered at the time why it always seemed the Pats knew what play the Steelers were calling. No one (except here and Patsfans) pointed out that taping defensive signals would hardly indicate what offensive play was being called.

It doesn't matter. Any accusation is assumed to be true, to the point that Brunnelle and Bettis castigate Brady for not owning up to deflating the balls. Bettis, of all people, should understand how it feels to be falsely accused.

The Patriots front office NEEDS to do something, say something. They should go on the attack, as sue ESPN, should say people are lying, should address ridiculous claims.

I understand Kraft is protecting his investment by maintaining silence, but he is abandoning his fans. Don Shula should never be allowed to refer to BB as ********* without an aggressive response. Shula is the ultimate hypocrite. He abused his position on the competition committee by using it to berate refs on penalties called against the Dolphins and demand they explain each one. You don't think that affected, even if subconsciously, calls that could go either way?

Where the hell is Kraft in this situation? Why doesn't he say something?

sorry for rant, i'm just getting friggin' tired of everyone having free rein to call the Pats cheaters.
