I said this when he was in Denver!

At the time of the trade it was a huge win for Denver and McDaniels. In terms of what I would look for from a QB, I would have traded Orton for Cutler straight up - maybe even given a 3rd or 4th to do it. But kudos to Josh for seeing that there was more value to be had there.

With Chicago having to play MINx2 and GBx2, Philly, Baltimore on the schedule, and very losable games to SF, Arizona, that #1 pick could look pretty solid come January.

I like Jay Cutler.

He just needs some weapons. Devin Hester is a gimmick, kick returner, undersized d-back. The other one sucks so much I don't know his name. Therefore defensed just key on the TE Olsen and the run and whalla....easily defensible, predictable offense.

Give him a couple mediocre WR's and he'll play better.

He may mellow with age and be better, but the WR argument falls a little flat when he just left Denver...

I know Denvers defense is great this year, but they were close to last last year. Hence, the guy had to throw all the time.

Whatever, he looks bad this year but I still think he needs WR's.

I'm sure next week against Cleveland will fatten his stats up.

Cleveland and a prayer, the Jay Cutler story starring Jaric as Lovie Smith and SOKB as Bus Cook.

At better comparison than Leaf. George actually had success at times, but his arrogance and immaturity eventually overwhelmed his teams.

The D sucked because he is a turn over machine. It is not the easiest thing in the world to play good D when your QB F's you over all the time.

Neither of the endzone INTs could be blamed on the receiver...14 point turnaround...boy that Bears D sucked for Cutler....no...he is the second coming of Dan marino...million dollar arm...10 cent head....NOT a winner.

The INTs weren't all his fault. Hester slipped on one, and on another there was interference.

I think Jay's biggest problem is that he's trying too hard to live up to the expectations placed on him. I mean, seriously, as soon as he was signed all of Chicago had the Bears in the Super Bowl. He's forcing the ball and trying to make the big plays instead of just trying to move the ball. He's got the talent, he can make the big plays, but it's like he's ALWAYS trying to make the big play. I really think he needs to relax a little and just go out there and play instead of trying to be a pro bowl QB.

I also think the bigger problem right now is coaching. The play calling is horrible and Lovie doesn't seem to be motivating the team. Chicago fans have been calling for Lovie's head for about 4 or 5 weeks. He has no control over his team anymore, it is falling apart.

That movie would last about 10 minutes.

And 9 of it would be me beating Cutler to death on the sidelines with his own helmet.

Denver 6-2 w/Orton and the picks, Chicago 4-5 w/ "the FRANCHISE QB"

Gotta love it.

Meanwhile in Denver Josh will have a big smile on his face all day today

Cutler has, at best, a good arm....he's the kind of guy whose head will never allow him to win.

Reminds me in some ways of Drew....and that's not fair to Drew.
