Got the NBC sports app on my phone, and with credentials, can cast just about all the coverage to the TV now. Watching curling from a few days ago now.

Johnny Weir is fantastic.

I admit that he's a tad unconventional for some folks, but given his area of expertise, figure skating, we need to expect a few burning sequins here and there.

I think he's smart as hell and articulate. And funny. Unlike my brother, who is married to a former figure skater, I can't stand the whole "sport"-slash-pageant, but it gets better with Johnny.

This sort of sums it up for me:

Downhill for sure. Insane.

The freestyle stuff is nuts. Fun viewing.

I have a strange gravitation to Biathlon. Something about the ability to calm in seconds from max heartbeat to sniper calm just is captivating to me. Much respect.

I can do without figure skating, but of course well get pounded with it.
I'm simply not a fan of the olympics inspite of the chance to see such fabulous athletes. Not sure why. But that makes it a great chance to air to the female viewing audience. I'm not watching anyway. Skating sells to women like crazy.

Huge drama at the Luge run this morning.

New candidate for this year's "Agony Of Defeat" "winner"

USA took the Silver

Those athletes are fearless. My knees ache for them all this morning.

I saw curling last night and plan to catch more. The sport just seems like a lot of fun.

Not big on figure skating though I do like the costumes. I'd just rather watch speed skating or short track.

I like Johnny Weir because he's all out there and doesn't care who doesn't like it.

Very exciting women's cross-country ski race yesterday. U.S. came in fourth and the skier may have a chance to medal in other events.

People who do the long ski jump are crazy! The tower is higher than the Statue of Liberty? Yikes!

Starting watching after Red's run. The wife was in the kitchen and I told her that this kid that looks 13 could win the gold.

Nice story, nice person.

Oh by the way, the event looked more like an X game event than what I was expecting at the Olympics.

The Olympics (at least winter ones) are trying to attract a younger crowd with Ski and Snowboard "Slope Style" and they added snowboard big air this year. I believe ski big air will be at next olympics. You can see these every year during X Games but still cool to see these guys/gals get into the Olympics

YES! It was phenomenal! Red was simply unreal.

This event scares the crap out of me. You seriously have to have some mental fortitude and fearlessness to do that stuff. Crazy.

Every Winter Olympics I tell myself that I don't really care to see any more europeans sliding down a fucking mountain and every one of them I get hooked. Maybe because it's winter and there isn't anything else going on, but.....whatever. I keep doing it.

Seeing that kid just crushing that last, remote chance he had was awesome. I was all teary-eyed seeing his family going nuts. Then, he's shading his eyes trying to see the scoreboard for a long beat and he buries his face in his hands and I figured he must have lost. Nope, he was just in total disbelief at what happened.

That's what the Olympics are supposed to be about, right there. Not the superstars pimping their endorsement contracts. Just some longshot from nowhere doing something impossible at the exact right moment. Fucking gold.
