And BB had them on cheap rookie contracts.
They are doing a lot right. No team has done better in two decades, but they must be doing something wrong as up until SBLII I was the world's biggest homer. I was solidly behind BB on trading JG, including the 2nd round compensation. Not playing Butler, watching Chung playing CB, was too much.

With BB no longer God to me, I'm no longer on board with watching JG play for another team for the next 20 years.

As far as I can determine, there have been several guys that won the MVP and were traded, but never the winner from the previous season.

There would be so much flak from a trade of Brady that even if it turned out to be a success competitively-speaking, i.e, Brady fell off the cliff and Jimmy was great, it would be so divisive and controversial both on the field and especially off it that you just can't make such a move.

And if it went the other way and Brady, say, beat us in a Super Bowl or Conference Championship then it would make us look like the biggest chumps of all-time and destroy the reputation of the entire organization. We would become an international punchline. The cheaters who got greedy, dumped the GOAT and got burned.

Hateriots all over the country would be dancing on our graves with such wild abandon that they would set a heart attack record that would never be broken.

Hindsight is always 20-20 but I hope to God I never run into anybody that tries telling me that trading Brady would have been a good idea so that we could keep Jimmy. My head might explode.

Greg Bedard

On the bright side of my SBLII reaction, I haven't watched one second of sports TV since the SB, and my work-at-home production is increased tremendously. I think now I just need to find the one best source of Patriot news to combine with Patriots discussion here. What do you think of Bedard?

It won't have any effect on the Patriots reputation west of the Connecticut River. Their minds were made up long ago. While Brady beating us in a Superbowl would make us look like chumps to them, so what? You can't make decisions based of fear of looking like a chump. You need to make decisions on what is best for you by trying to look forward to what you believe will happen. Anyway, if worrying about what haters will think and do bother you, consider that we will look like bigger chumps to them if Brady wins no more Lombardis and JG wins a handful.

Let me sleep off the traums, resist ignoring alll that I've seen from Bill since 2001 and tossing it all because of whatever horrible trauma that bill is supposed to have inflicted on me Sunday last. Just my POV, He has to get credit for Making the Big show eight times in eighteen years.

Ask me again when I've worked thru he trauma.

I really think we are looking back and making decisions based more on what he did after the trade. Patsfan64 pointed out the number of players who looked similar and failed. People rather Draft an unknown than trade for a seems-like he is going to be good - and that I took that from Furia

I haven't listen to much Dale lately so if I agree it scares me.
Did we not see what JimmyG already did with his new team?

The dew is legit.

Brees wasn't good until he played in NOLA. That's why Chargers let him go. 8-8 tops. Every year. Very average when he was in SD.

A solid guy. Regularly provides detailed context on organizational moves and he has a good command of the team's history. I don't always agree with his assessment of player performances, but he isn't shy about voicing his opinion and provides supporting evidence of why he feels the way he does. Doesn't usually get involved in taking potshots like most of the locals. Smart football guy.

He's a good choice.

You’re missing out on a really entertaining Bruins product.

I'm just glad that Brees never signed with the Fish...for more than one reason.

Traits already translate.

Processes too quickly.

Marino type release.

Extends plays with feet.

He’s going to be very good very long.
