The Postman or Waterworld sounds more like it. Or Draft Day.

I am not surprised Gronk is considering leaving football. I think when we signed Cooks, he knew that his money would be going to him and that he would be on incentive deals the rest of the way. In the end, I still think he plays this year as he loves football too much but if his body is breaking down or if he is worried about his mental health/CTE then he should go and pursue other things.

This whole thing came because the media asked him a question fifteen minutes after a big loss.

It's clear from watching him in pressers that Gronk has been coached hard in deflecting tricky questions from the media with team-centric cliches because they know he's liable to slip up and give them a good quote so they go after him all the time.

I just see it as him not wanting to talk about himself at all at a sensitive time for the team and he gave the time-honored "I want to sit down and think, reflect, cogitate, get in touch with my inner Gronk before deciding" BS. It was a deflection, imo, and nothing to get folks worked up about.

He's in the prime of his life and is one really shitty actor. I think he knows that. He was pretty healthy this season and finished very strong. His best chance at Showbiz is to become even bigger in football. Huger and Gronkier. And he can always fall back on that if his body breaks down again.

Acting? He makes Lou Ferrigno look like Anthony Hopkins. He may not even be Hollywood Squares material.

To me, this is the big item. When was the last time Gronk went into the off-season healthy? As far as we know, there's no corrective surgeries to be had, no long rehabs, just rest, recuperate and get back into the weight room where he loves to be. If he were looking at some major lingering injury, he may feel differently.

I think Gronk playing a bison would be a better fit for him.

I should work, Kevin Costner can't act either.

It's not the most far-fetched thing ever.

We all love Gronk, but he's at the point in his life where it's getting close to not being funny anymore to be the eternal, fun-loving frat boy.

He's 28 and that is approximately the age where a lot of guys decide that they can't live on Sugar Mountain anymore and decide to make a change. It's also the age where the human male body starts to decline.

He doesn't have to, certainly, but since I know he can't do what he's been doing forever, I'd be OK if he went out to Montana with Brady and the boys, knocks off the partying, maybe finds himself a good woman and makes a run at being a better football player than he's ever been.

Which is frightening to consider.

Sell the bus, Rob. It's time.

All sage advice and I’d LOVE to see happen.

But he’s got a posse. Most of the posse is family.

They ain’t going nowhere.

On a serious note....

Do I want Gronk to retire? No. I want to see him play.

I do, however, defer to his own judgement and his doctors.

I have a lot of great memories of Gronk, and the last thing I want is to remember Gronk taking some kind of spine shattering hit right in front of my eyes on the field, and him laying there paralysed on the grass. I don't want that to be the defining memory I have of him.

If it's time to retire, then retire. But do it for the right reasons....health reasons.

You know that Rob has dabbled in the TB12 stuff to some extent and now that the off-season is here I]m thinking that he might really go for it full throttle-- assuming that Tom and the sweat club will rubber stamp the new guy. If they'll trust that he's really serious.

His bros and Daddy Gordo can wait for a while.

They can have the bus and drive it to every bar in WNY if they want and I hope they are all thinking that Rob is doing the right thing, even though they will no doubt reserve the right to bust his balls for being a .

Time to set the boy free.

Bradichick is an unknown quantity at this point
Would suck to see one of the best TEs leave the game, but it would be had to blame him. He has had a bunch of injuries and concussion. He has checked off many of the things on a great career list, I can see going out at a high level. Not sure about the acting thing, but he has the money to learn from the best and I could see him in action films.
