Andrew Luck Motivated to Face Patriots

https://247sports.com/nfl/new-englan...olts-115036145

Andrew Luck was perhaps the single most important player involved in any head coaching search this offseason. If coaching candidates believed him to be healthy, the Indianapolis Colts would have instantly become the most attractive job on the market. If not? They offer the sort of job a candidate might, say, take and then leave at the 11th hour before signing a contract.

Josh McDaniels did just that, though his given reasoning had nothing to do with Luck. But the star quarterback still reportedly took that spurning to heart. According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, Luck will have extra motivation whenever he faces McDaniels and the Patriots from now on.

"McDaniels walking away from the Colts has given Luck a shot of motivational adrenaline that he didn’t have before Tuesday. Not that it’s going to make him work extra hard in rehab from his shoulder injury. But that every time the Colts play the Patriots (starting in 2018, assuming Luck is healthy enough to play), it’s going to be a mega-game for Luck. This basically is along the lines of, So you decided we weren’t good enough for you? Okay. We’ll see what happens when we meet again."

Luck has never beaten the Patriots, and the Colts have lost those five games by a combined 123 points. The gap between the two teams remains enormous, but a motivated Luck creates a more interesting Colts team moving forward.

This guy needs to worry about just getting on the freaking field. What a maroon.
