Andrew Luck Motivated to Face Patriots

https://247sports.com/nfl/new-englan...olts-115036145

Andrew Luck was perhaps the single most important player involved in any head coaching search this offseason. If coaching candidates believed him to be healthy, the Indianapolis Colts would have instantly become the most attractive job on the market. If not? They offer the sort of job a candidate might, say, take and then leave at the 11th hour before signing a contract.

Josh McDaniels did just that, though his given reasoning had nothing to do with Luck. But the star quarterback still reportedly took that spurning to heart. According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, Luck will have extra motivation whenever he faces McDaniels and the Patriots from now on.

"McDaniels walking away from the Colts has given Luck a shot of motivational adrenaline that he didn’t have before Tuesday. Not that it’s going to make him work extra hard in rehab from his shoulder injury. But that every time the Colts play the Patriots (starting in 2018, assuming Luck is healthy enough to play), it’s going to be a mega-game for Luck. This basically is along the lines of, So you decided we weren’t good enough for you? Okay. We’ll see what happens when we meet again."

Luck has never beaten the Patriots, and the Colts have lost those five games by a combined 123 points. The gap between the two teams remains enormous, but a motivated Luck creates a more interesting Colts team moving forward.

This guy needs to worry about just getting on the freaking field. What a maroon.

So we'll only beat them by 25 points from here on in ?

Fake news. Luck does not roll that way. He is too busy stocking his book club to care who the HC is.

As if his extra motivation would mean anything. You mean he wasn't motivated when he faced the Patriots in a game where the winner went to the SuperBowl? That game was meh for him?

My advice to Andrew Luck is the same as my advice to the other 3 AFC East Teams.

Don't worry about beating the Patriots, worry about getting better.

The Patriots represent 6.25% of your schedule (12.5% for the AFC East), so think out the other 93.75% of your schedule.

You win games by getting better, if you win enough games you go to the playoffs.

If you beat the Patriots and finish 7-9 (known as a Rex Ryan) you didn't win shit.

The Coyote made it interesting for the Roadrunner at times, but the results were always the same.

I like to bash the Colts as much as the next man, but can’t get excited about this.

The quote is from Peter King and there’s no indication that Luck thinks anything of the sort. It’s pure conjecture from King.

I would imagine all Luck is thinking about is being able to throw a football again. That kid has been to hell and is not back yet. He looked awful during his last presser and is not yet even throwing a football after his "treatment" in Europe. Not a good sign.

I don't think Luck can shoulder the expectations he is placing on himself.

I'm thinking this is a load of BS. Luck is probably alot more concerned with being able to play catch some day than beating the Pats.
