Didn't Ball get out played in the NCAA playoffs (by Jackson of Kentucky??)??
Yes, Jackson owned ball in the NCAA playoffs. After what the Cavs are now doing to the Celtics for their last 3 games in Boston, this is literally pitiful Celtics play across the board. Last night was 130-86 and this has to be one of the most disgraceful Celtics games I have seen since 1950s. So, bottom line is that Celtics need at least another established accurate 3 point shooter and some coaching for defensive play. This series is not over until it's over. But I can't help looking forward to watching Cavs / Warriors in the rematch. :(

Warriors must feel something like the Falcons.

Cheers

A year or two is a good benchmark. It even took Lebron a full season to really get going, Kobe came off the bench, etc etc.

Nice comeback win for the C's last night, fans must be stoked to be able to see another payoff game at the Garden.

Hoping the Spurs get Leonard back soon. I want the Celtics to face the best Spurs team in the finals so no one can say that the C's beat a banged up team.

I agree, once the Cavs go down in 6 the next victim will need to be as healthy as possible to face the Boston Bruisers!

if only the Bruins had their toughness.

You throw everyone, and I mean everyone, but Hayward, Horford, Brown and Tatum at Cleveland to make this happen. Take back every crappy Mike Miller contract you have to to make it happen.

I might even move Horford too.

He's not exactly the type of player I'd be inclined to throw max money at.

I mean, he's already getting max money (free agent max that is), you may as well keep him. Actual stretch 4s aren't really that easy to come by. If Irving's going, I don't imagine Cleveland would have any interest in adding an even larger contract, when they're just going to be heading into Tank City.

Yeah. We are already paying him.

But if it took him to move to make the trade I think I'd pull the trigger.

A lineup of Kyrie, Hayward, Brown, and Tatum looks pretty interesting.

We get a stud big with the Nets pick.

Or flip our Lakers and Memphis picks for Porzingas.

Oh, well certainly, Irving's the far superior player. Hell, he's Rondo in his prime with a jump shot who hits 90% from the FT line.

If you're a believer in the 40/50/90 formula of a Hall-of-Fame Offensive Player, he was actually a 40/47/90 guy this year, which is really unreal for a score-first PG. (Thomas was 38/46//90 this past season).

I don't think Porzingas is on the table anymore, since Phil Jackson is gone, but I really think Ainge is loading up for one big Godfather Offer for Anthony Davis. Having Irving here would really help to facilitate that.

The good thing is we'll get to see just how dominant these bigs at the top of the draft will look.

We may prefer the youth and contract when it's all said and done.

The Cavs are idiots if they trade Kyrie given his age and contract. LeBron is leaving next year no matter what happens. If they trade Kyrie this offseason, they'll be left with nothing at the end of next season.

All that being said, it would be epic if Danny found a way to get this done.

Irving's contract is up after the 18-19 season, so he's only got two years left on the deal.

Could the Cavs really expect anyone to buy tickets if Lebron walks (again) after this year, and Irving walking the next, both of them trashing the organization on the way out, and getting zero in return?

The NBA isn't like the NFL. If a player wants to be traded, he's traded. Paul George told Indiana (and the world) that he was going to opt out at the end of next year. He was traded within 2 weeks (for a couple of bags of dogshit, mind you). If Cleveland can get an actual return for the Irving trade (Say, oh, Boston's Pick, IT, Jae Crowder and one of Marcus Smart, Rozier, Zizic, whatever to make the money work, I don't know if Boston can trade their mid-level exemption or not, if they can, it would just be IT and Crowder), they would have to classify that as a win, rather than winning nothing, and then getting nothing.
