Same reason they're all drafted so high. Bad scouting. They see stats and think 'wow, he must be great'. Trubisky was a one-year starter on a throw-sideways offense, that won 8 games in a weak conference.

Tannehill, same thing, except that conference is a little better.

Mike Gillislee had a fumble returned for a TD that gave the biggest-underdog-of-the-day Bucs a 31-7 lead over NO.

Aaron Rodgers is in his 14th season and that was the best game he's played out of the 149 games he's played. I give him his due but regression to his norm is inevitable. GB was favored btw. The Bears will be ok. ARodgers will have a very sore and swollen knee for a few weeks if his reported diagnosis of a partially torn ACL is correct. A full tear isn't far behind.

The media will be abuzz about ARodgers today but the QB who surprised me the most was journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick who had a 156.2 rating for the Bucs yesterday on his way to whipping the Saints in their house. His was a performance, from start to finish, more worthy of media buzz than Rodgers' was imo. He will regress to his norm, too.

The Browns are +5 in takeaways today.
Since the Browns returned to the NFL, teams with a turnover margin of +5 or better in a game are 132-4-1.
The Browns are responsible for two of those losses and the tie.

New Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack is filling up the stat sheet.
He already has a sack, interception, forced fumble, fumble recovery, and defensive TD in Week 1.
The last player to do that in a game was... Khalil Mack in Week 12, 2016 against the Panthers.

The 3 QBs with the worst QB Rating in the #NFL after 1 week are:
1) Nate Peterman: 0.0.
2) Marcus Mariota: 36.2.
3) Jimmy Garoppolo: 45.1.

Ha, ha, time for the Drama Queen Award! Which goes to Mr. Aaron Rodgers. Everyone in the world knows his injury and there will be a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth in the media while praising Saint Aaron.

Fitzpatrick seems to have a few games each season where he plays totally out of his mind. He'll land back to earth eventually, and really disappoint fans.

Not overly ecstatic about the way the offense played in the 2nd half but real pleased with how the 'Skins looked overall yesterday. Rumors of AP's demise may have been premature and their D-line could be full on beast. Granted, it's only week 1, and they still have the dumber Gruden brother to contend with, but something felt different about them yesterday. For one thing, they actually looked ready to play.

I didn't see the KC/Chargers game, but the stats on Mahomes look pretty damn solid. He might just be as good as I've been hearing. Most everything I've read have had the Chargers slotted as the AFC West champs this year. That clearly doesn't seem accurate. Chefs might be the #2 team.

I didn't see much of the 2nd half, but Mack was dynamic as was ex-Pat Akiem Hicks who was just killing #64. I couldn't figure out if Hicks has gotten that much better or the guy blocking him was a scrub, but he really came to play last night.

As an unrelated note, I saw a couple of occasions in different games (mostly red zone) where teams were trying to use a two-minute offense and just couldn't get anything done. It was pathetic to see some of them try. Tyrod being Tyrod and plenty of others.

It made me think that we have been spoiled rotten by Brady. Nobody gets more done inside of two minutes than us and it goes back decades. He was the clock master from the moment he stepped onto an NFL field.

At the risk of being a braggart I am very confident that I can put on a NFL uni and throw a QBR of 0.0 on the stat sheet. I'm also very sure I can toss 5 picks in a game like Peterman did last year.

I agree. I sort of pull for Trubisky because he's a local kid that went to HS about 30 miles up the road from me but I see his ceiling as a journeyman qb at best. I usually show some patience with young qb's until they get 2-3 years under their belt but I just don't see it with Trubisky.
