Obama was going to comment about Nugent, but he was busy scouting vacation spots in Colombia on our dime, and blaming the Republicans for not passing The Buffett Rule (a bill named after Warren Buffett, who owes a billion dollars in back taxes, that wants people to "pay their fair share") in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

OK, I know you are actually The Shadow, and thus "know what evil lurks in the hearts of men", but how on earth do you construe his statement regarding him being in jail or dead a "threat" against Obama?

How is it possible that the only possible explanation for his statement is that he is going to be arrested or killed for going after Obama?

Since he previous comments were about his 2nd Amendment rights being taken away and his not having the right to defend himself, the simpler explanation is that he thinks that gun ownership will be illegal and the police will try and confiscate his guns. If he resists such an action,which he probably would, then the outcome is that he will either be dead or arrested.

Alternatively, if he is not allowed to defend himself, then should he be attacked by someone, he will either be dead because he can't defend himself, or in jail for shooting his attacker since self defense is not allowed.

BTW, to understand his final comment, it doesn't matter if his judgement on these issues is accurate or not. If he believes them, then it explains his statements.

I guess because they are not saying it about the president....its possible they were questioned about it, it just did not make major news.

Nugent has a history of violent hyperbole....but he doesn't follow up on it. It's just talk.
It's protected speech. SC has ruled such violent speech permissable if there is no“clear and present danger” to those it is directed towards. Or no actual planning is involved to engage in it, including talk of overthrowing the US govt in Yates v. United States 1957.

I doubt Romney favors such speech on his behalf though.
