I don't condone what the right did in regards to condemning dissent, but I do acknowledge that war is a tricky thing, and there is some truth to the fact that dissent empowers your enemy. Additional, Lincoln and Roosevelt pulled some shit that would simply not fly in this day in age.

Regardless, Murtha didn't come out and protest the war, he protested the peace keeping (if I'm reading correctly) which strikes me as kind of gutless shit bag territory.

Of course, the "denouncing all criticism as unpatriotic" is a bunch of crap, since it was the lefties screaming that criticism/dissent was the highest form of Patriotism, and starting in with that bullshit right around September 12, 2001, even as they were preparing to use the war as a political issue.
