Exactly. You've got bigger problems. Hence my disdain for applauding this action.

I did not like Hernandez one bit. I didn't even like him as a player and always thought he was a thug, even before the whole murder thing. I just think we are all products of our community and we should do what we can to influence those in our circles in a positive way.

I've known too many people who should still be with us. My high school tennis doubles partner stepped in front of an 18 wheeler going 70 MPH the day after graduation. Why? He was a smart kid, graduated near the top of his class, but his parents couldn't afford college and he felt he had no future, according to the note he left behind. He came across as a bit of a thug in high school, but that was just a wall he put up so kids wouldn't pick on him for being poor. Maybe if I and others had done things differently, his life path would have been different. Unfortunately his solution lead another kid in my class to do something similar, and that kid would never have looked at the first kid as a role model.

I'm dropping this now, but bottom line is I will never rejoice or be happy about a suicide.
