I'm not a big fan of drama, so if that's your style, I'm out.

I'm also a great listener, but everything I hear is deliberately deleted from my memory bank. I don't sublet my head space to anyone.

Love that.

I think I used to be more drawn to drama when I was in my 30's but now? Um later the minute it happens. Of course, you can't do that when you have kids as easily.

I guess my main point is I am going to be much more picky about the company I keep .:)

Having quality friends is essential to living a good life.

Yesterday whilst wandering around the www came across this name-Richard Hamming.

By his own description he was a "utility mathematician " on the Manhattan Project.
One day a physicist asks him to check his numbers.

His first thought was to fob the assignment to one of his underlings. But asked what it is about first.

The physicist said "you can't perform a small nuclear bomb test. Those numbers are to check to see that we don't ignite the whole atmosphere. "

Hamming decided to check the numbers himself.

I saw a great sign in a store recently. I use to tell people," I am just me, just myself, it is all I know."

But the sign said it better.

"Be yourself, everyone else is taken." LOL

I'm with you on that one -- but we're having trouble adding our new daughter to our health insurance. So much so in fact that the insurance company is forcing us to close our plan and reapply for a new one.

Of course they don't offer the same plan to us anymore and we will need to get on a new and more expensive one. Love paying over $10k per year in health insurance.
Love it.

They haven't technically paid for anything and I'm worried if we're switching plans in the middle of everything, they're going to try to pull a fast one on us and say that the pregnancy somehow wasn't covered.

Same with her routine doctor visits and the numerous tests we had done for jaundice after her birth.

I'm beyond pissed off.

Don't get me started on being pissed off with the medical field. When my son was born 3 months early, granted this was eons ago, they told me I owed 42k and the insurance was not covering it. I told them on the phone I could not afford that and I would be dropping my son off at her office.

The lady said nothing, I said, "Hello?"

I can make a list, hell we can all make a list of stuff they do that pisses us off. And for someone who goes often I get ticked off regularly with them.

Lots wrong with Canadian healthcare, but my sister had her baby about a week ago and everything was covered of course. No questions asked. Simply show up at doctor's offices, hospitals, etc. and get all the required/recommended check-ups, tests, and specialist appointments without worrying about coverage denials.

I'm sure that peace of mind is helpful for them right now.

I'm sure it is. We were more worried about him almost dying five times in eight days from his heart, liver and lungs failing in comparison to paying 42K. I am not sure how it all played out, again this was eons ago, but they figured it out eventually. I believe the hospital went to the insurance company if my memory serves me right. I tell ya having insurance bother you while you are by your baby's side at NICU is not fun and will never be fun.

Things have gotten better but then you hear cases that make you wonder.

Dude, they covered me at the ER in England for free. No cost whatsoever, despite not living in England or paying anything into the NHS there.
