Science Professor Quotes

This is one of my go to site when I need a laugh and as a fellow scientist I love it

http://scienceprofessorquotes.tumblr.com/

Just some fun ones at a glance.

“Inanimate objects aren’t stupid; people are stupid.”
— Organic chemistry professor after I told him I couldn’t find a “stupid 19/22 glass stopper”

“Organic chemistry is a necessary evil in this world”
— Biochemistry prof, complaining about organic chemists

I concur, I hated Organic Chemistry even though I needed it for the degree.

“You know there’s 3 types of mathematicians? The ones who can count and the ones who can’t.”
— Partial Differential Equations Professor

“I like to keep my office door closed so people don’t come in and talk to me about things I don’t care about”
— E&M professor

“Now I know you all were taught this last year in science but I don’t trust those other teachers, one is a chemist and the others are physicists - what do they know about biology?”

FROM YOUR ENTRY:

“Just like students, currents always choose the path of least resistance.”

And I personally, along w/many others, like to point out there are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Cheers

Other gems:

“I don’t even know what a hashtag is. It’s called a hashtag function?”
— Math Graduate coordinator trying to understand a computer science talk

““So, the first thing you should know about Python [a programming language] is that you will forget to close the brackets. So, when one of you inevitably asks me why your program is swarming with syntax errors, I will just hand you this.” *holds up small business cards that reads ‘CLOSE THE FUCKING BRACKETS’*”
— computer science teacher

“You’re not just engineers, you’re *chemical engineers*, which is even worse.”
— thermodynamics professor

“Science advances one death at a time”
— Geology professor

I have a few nerdy ones myself. I have a shirt with the periodic chart and a physical chemistry one and one pertaining to women scientist.

I do want to get one of my favorite physicist Telsa just have not made the effort yet to get it.

Which reminds me of my favorite Einstein quote:

"Not everything that can be counted counts; not everything that counts can be counted."

Amen.

I'm an INTP. I don't know what the extra T is about.

I'm very INTP, too. I check off like very box. ROFL ROFL

EDIT: I looked into INTP-A vs INTP-T. I'm not sure which I would fall under. It's not very clear the distinction. I'm not sure I buy into it, but whatever...shrinks like their terms and definitions....makes them feel like real scientists and doctors, I guess.

Tesla was more of an engineer than a physicist.

My favorite?

Feynman.

The man was a stone cold genius and loved to poke the bear.

Supposedly, when he was at Los Alamos working on the Manhattan project, he used to sneak out somehow and then walk back through the gate, presenting his ID.

The guards would freak because he never had "officially" left the compound. He said he did it just for that very reason.

He was also one of the best teachers for physics that I can think of (yes that includes Sears and Zemansky).

His "Lectures on Physics" is legendary for a reason. He had a true gift to explain things so that those listening/reading could understand him.
