MONTREAL, Canada (AFP) - A Canadian website is reaching out to help weary liberal Americans who can no longer tolerate their president, asking Canadians to marry someone from south of the border.

"Open your heart, and your home. Marry an American. Legions of Canadians have already pledged to sacrifice their singlehood to save our southern neighbours from four more years of cowboy conservatism," jests the site www.marryanamerican.ca, set up by a Toronto humour magazine.

Hundreds of Canadians already have signed up, ready to do their part for the cause following Republican George W. Bush's reelection as US president.

To convince Americans to come on up, the site mentions that compared to the United States, Canada is a liberal utopia with universal health care and in some provinces, gay marriage.

"We envision a movement where everyone wins: Freedom of expression and a politically convenient marriage with love and igloos for all," it says.

I would love to see disenchanted liberals move north. Crowding is beginning to become a problem anyway.

You can keep 'em. We have enough idiot liberals up here already. Oddly enough, I suggested moving to the US after our election last summer.

What is really comical is listening to the right wing say " we're all americans, let's all get along," and when we respond with "screw that" they say "then get the hell out of OUR country," which demonstrates perfectly just how hollow their rhetoric truly is.

News update:

After a 24 hr cycle of healing, the commandant in cheif made it completely clear to everyone that he's got a right wing mandate (all 3% of it) and he's going to spend the next four years ramming his immoral and incompetent policies right down all our throats.

Thanks for that moment of unity, we really appreciated it.

Good luck with YOUR country and YOUR policies.
