Now, before you jump all over me and accuse me of wanting to start WWIII (which I believe has already started anyway) hear me out. Al-Jazeera obviously has secrect links to terrorists all accross the middle east. How is it that every video that you see on CNN, Fox News, and other news agencies show videos of beheadings that were first an "Al-Jazeera exclusive"? How is it that this "news organization" gets these videos? Do they not have links to the terrorists that are committing these heinous crimes?
I believe that the U.S. should force Al-Jazeera to give up their sources and cooperate fully in the war on terror. If they don't, they should be bombed immediately. I'm not kidding about this. The people of Al-Jazeera are cooperating with terrorists and are a mouth peice for radical islamic groups.
I'm sick and tired of seeing videos of beheadings and "insurgents" walking around the streets with RPG's and AK-47's. Where are these videos coming from? How do they get to Al-Jazeera? Who gives Al-Jazeera tapes of Bin Laden trying to drum up a Jihad? These questions need to be answered. Al-Jazeera is a boardline terrorst organization in my opinion. They should be eliminated if they don't cooperate. Your thoughts?

I would be in opposed to it. At least based upon the very little that I know about it. Haven't nutcases in the US done something stupid, and then given a tape of it to the media here? That doesn't make the media an accomplice, I don't think.
Al-Jazeera is biased certainly, but I don't know enough to say they are active participants. What we really need to come to grips with, is what Iran and Syria are doing. They are the two countries left that are not dealing with their terrorism issues (at least not in a constructive way). The bad news is that there is no public support right now for anyone forcing them to deal with it, so I think the Middle East (and Iraq in particular) is going to be a mess for quite a while still.
My vote, not that I really have one, would be no.

I am as disgusted with Al-Jazeera as you are, and I actually do think they are accomplices (in some cases) to the attacks on US troops. When the four civilian contractors were ambushed, incinerated and hung from bridges in Falluja - reporters just happened to be there literally seconds after the attack. I doubt it was a coincidence, at the time officials speculated that there was knowledge of an attack so the reporters sat there and waited for it.
That being said, I don't think bombing them is the way to go. What little credibility we have left in the world would be snuffed out if we started silencing every anti-American source in the region. Again, I agree with you - Al Jazeera is probably more than just an anti-american news source, they might be an active participant against our troops. But that is not the way it would play in the world, it would be considered an attack on the "freedom of the press" and we would be portrayed as the ultimate hypocrites.
I personally don't care what France, Germany and Russia think of us - I also don't care what Middle Eastern governments think of us. But if Iraq has any chance of being a success, we need the cooperation of millions of Iraqis. They need to serve as policemen, soldiers, contractors, laborers etc. - if we bomb Al-Jazeera it would just give fodder to our opponents and make it more difficult to recruit people to our side (in my opinion).

Hey, I realize that we could NEVER start bombing news organizations. I may be stupid but I'm not dumb. But I am utterly disgusted with these A-holes. I know it's an extreme view to want to destroy them, but it's the way I see it right about now. I think we need to take the gloves off and start fighting this war to win it. My biggest criticism of the war in Iraq is not the WMD/ no UN approval/ or even the "mission accomplished" banner. My biggest problem is the way we are fighting a political war. I really don't care about innocent Iraqi people. I know it's harsh but I don't care about them. I care about U.S. soldiers who are there to protect the United States. They should have the full arsenal of the U.S. military in order to give them the best chance to succeed in their mission. Fallujah should be a parking lot right about now. Seriously, that place is a terrorist bee hive and it has been allowed to fester because collateral damage and world opinion are far more important to the American public than actually winning the God damn war. It's time to take the gloves off and get nasty. I fear that John Kerry will actually handle the war WORSE than Bush has, because he will try to please everybody at the same time. And we all know, you can't please everyone all the time. I'm pissed.
