Some general comments of the finale of the last convention and the beginning of the home stretch.

Looks like Kerry came out swinging after the finale of the RNC (or at least tried to...)

I know almost zero about Kerry - for you guys on the east coast - if the last two months of this campaign turn out to be a slugfest as it appears it might, does Kerry have the nads to swing back (and be effective while doing so)?

I watched almost his entire rebuttal last night and for Kerry being 'fired up', I wasn't too moved emotionally by what he had to say. I thought he came off as flat and uninspired, and I'm just wondering if that was just me because I was tired.

It looks as if the campaign will be a tad more spirited than the one in 2000. The debates should be fun at least.

On an unrelated note.....does anyone else notice that Democratic conventions and events are disrupted by protesters far less often than the Republican ones? I know - that's America and all, but those people are really annoying. Orderly protests are fine with me, just don't be such a jack-ass about it. Surely they'll get attention, but many people will just see them for the annoying jack-ass they are.

As far as I'm concerned, the more orderly and organized the protest, that's all the more effective it will be in getting your group's point across. People that break into convention halls screaming and carrying on are just criminals that should be locked up.

Have you ever been to protestwarrior.com? It's hilarious you should check it out.

What cracks me up about these people, is that they hold a "peace" rally against the war, and then kick the crap out of a police officer.

It's also funny how "pro" free speech they are, unless your speech includes disagreeing with their speech. Then they don't think that you should be allowed to speak.

What makes you think that prowar people are any different?

Zelotes on both sides of the fence are jack-asses.

This is true, but I wasn't talking about pro-war or anti-war, just protesters in general.

I don't care what their cause is, there is a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it. Crashing conventions and causing a commotion is the wrong way.

Didn't you read the Globe? No, it's too biased. I go to AlJazeera.net (http://english.aljazeera.net/HomePage) to get a more balanced perspective.
