Nobody knows for sure what the story is and speculations ranges from him being upset over his Grandma's passing away to him smoking bong hits with Ricky Williams.

You can read the rampant hysteria from Buffalo here:

Anyone got any ideas where he might be?

I just read the 9 page thread on bills.com to see if there were any updates.

The most popular theory is that Williams is still hurting over losing his Grandmother (who raised him) two months ago-- was depressed and then gets into camp in terrible shape and was promptly demoted, causing a lack of mojo and further depression.

It makes sense, but.....:eek:if true, then he needs a gut check.

One Buffalo writer claimed that he DID show up for practice, but too late to participate and Hollywood Donahoe is saying that it is a private matter and has refused to clarify.

The most interesting part of the thread is the debate raging over what fans are allowed to say about the situation as pertains to their terms of service and Wyo is emboiled in a debate about the same topic.

Since we are under no such restrictions I would like to engage in some unsubstantiated speculation:

TOP TEN REASONS MIKE WILLIAMS DIDN"T SHOW UP

#10 - He is still depressed over the beating the Pats laid on the Bills at the end of the regular season.

Anyone?

#9 - He is depressed that he can not fit into a size 22 skirt.

#8 - He's protecting Beldsoe, who has no pocket presence, therefore inflating his sacks given up stats.

#7 - He was kidnapped by scientists, concerned that his body was blocking too much of the sun's rays, thereby reversing the greenhouse effect and causing enviornmental calamity.

Every team has it's idiosyncracies. The Patriots have "Retiring Guard Syndrome" and the Bills now have "The Serta Syndrome" which epidemiological research shows us started with Ruben Brown's refusal to get out of bed last December, and is now spreading to those players he mentored. It is thought to be highly contagious.*

The CDC confirmed that the last outbreak of "The Serta Syndrome" was back in the days of John and Yoko, but hasn't been seen since.

ROFL

So, using that theory...

#6 - The Serta Syndrome.

#5 - He and Barret Robbins concoct a grand scheme to set themselves up as spokesmen for new anti-depressant/bipolar drug developed by major drug company Eli Lilly.

Their plan to travel to Canada and wander around in a drunken haze backfires when they are detained at the border for impersonating football players.

#4 - He was spotted in a backyard swimming pool of a Buffalo condo complex by a group of Greenpeace activists and "rescued".

He was last spotted strapped to the flatbed of an eighteen wheeler heading in the direction of Hudson Bay.

Because he wanted to wander the world, puff the cheeb, and find himself?

Sorry, wrong Williams.

Because he was fed up with Wanny using him as a battering ram, and wanted to play for a real football team?

Damn, wrong Williams again.

I can't help but think that the common trait Rickie Williams and I share is affecting my posting reliability.

Oh well, back to the topic at hand.

What were we talking about?

Because he couldn't pass on the opportunity to star in the sequel to "The Green Mile?"

Williams returns to practice after being fined by Bills

August 4, 2004
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) -- Buffalo Bills tackle Mike Williams, who was fined by the team this week for missing a training-camp session, returned to practice Wednesday morning.

``It feels great to be back,'' Williams said after the workout. ``I'm going to work hard with my teammates and try to win games.''

Coach Mike Mularkey fined Williams for missing practice Tuesday, a day after being excused from the second of two practices on Monday for personal reasons.

Williams said he missed Tuesday's practice due to ``personal problems.'' He did not provide details, saying only that the situation had been rectified.

``Everything is behind me and I'm very comfortable,'' Williams said. ``The family is fine and everything is great right now.''

Williams had missed several voluntary minicamp sessions in June because of a death in his family. Mularkey then demoted him to the Bills' second team, saying he wanted to give the tackle more time to learn the offensive system.

Selected fourth overall in the 2002 draft, Williams has been the Bills' starting right tackle since the first game of his rookie season. Mularkey said he expected Williams to win back his starting job from Marcus Price.

``The absence had nothing to do with Marcus Price, it had nothing to do with me being out of shape, or on the second team, it was just personal problems with the family, just to categorize it,'' Williams said.

He also missed the last two games of the season with a knee injury.

``I don't see any further bumps,'' Williams said. ``But if there is one, I'll know exactly how to deal with it. I'm going to press on.''

The Bills didn't disclose the amount of Tuesday's fine, but Williams said he understood their position.

``That's league policy ... That was the correct thing to do,'' he said.

Williams said he apologized to his teammates on Wednesday to help clear the air, telling them he was dealing with personal issues. He also spoke personally with Price.

``Me and him are very tight,'' Williams said. ``This situation will never happen again.''

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

This thread cracked me up. Some GOOD ones here!!!

Yea, Big Mikey is back in the fold; but FAT and in the doghouse. We'll have to see how he responds to that.

LOL Hawg... We were instructed to keep a "short leash" on the personal attacks about Big Mike.

Since it official message board of the organiZation, they are stricter about how they interpret the TOS. Price to be paid for getting live player chats, etc.
