View Full Version : For the rest of 2010, Beltre or Alicia

OK, this is a serious question, even though it might look nutty off the bat.

If you had the choice of Adrian Beltre or Alicia Rodriguez for the rest of the 2010 season, who would you take?

Now the obvious answer is that Alicia is a sure fire HOFer and you have to go with her.

But, on Beltre's side:

- Hitting MUCH better now in the average and power areas

- Better defender, even with the unusually high number of errors

- Other than the bizarre "don't touch my head" thing, he seems like a much better teammate and person

- in a contract year and has all the motivation in the world to keep it up

- Never won shit and has all the motivation in the world to keep it up, for that reason, too

On Alicia's side

- Hotter chicks around the team

- The capacity to get wicked phucking hot

- Fun having a guy with purple lips on the team

- Easier access to PEDs

- A rolodex of shemale strippers that beats the snot out of anyone's

I'm going with Beltre for 2010. What would you do?

A really hard, straight poll is comeing.

Bias isn't such a bad thing, methinks.

Plus, I did acknowledge in the poll choice that Alicia is a better overall player....not that that's a novel thought....but in addition to the mocking, there was a bit of intellectual honest tossed in.

Alice's hands over head, Eddie Haskell "what did I do?" look after the Slap remains one of my favorite images of that post-season.

Fun poll Stinger, but we also have to acknowledge something else-

Alice is about to turn 35 years old. She could be at the beginning of her decline phase, something not at all unusual for players that age.

...oh, and for the record...I LOVED the Beltre' signing, absolutely LOVED it. He's doing exactly what I thought he would, and it gives the Sox some real options for next year. Do you bring him back on a multi-year deal and leave Youk at first? Do you pull the trigger on Gonzalez and move Youk to 3rd?

or does that 3rd spot belong to a re-signed Victor

that's what it's going to come down to. The options will be re-sign Victor and Beltre', or resign one and get Gonzalez. Victor gives them more flexibility because he can catch or play 1st, and it would also give them the option of pursuing another catcher and moving Victor to 1st on a full-time basis. Regardless of how you look at it, the Sox are in a very good position with the options available there.

For a second I thought you meant "Luis" Alicea.

I think Vmart is as good as gone. They had their chance to try and extend him and didn't even make an offer

Another four hits for Beltre tonight. Although it's still ridiculously early, I'll say it: he's quietly working his way into the MVP discussion.

There are few things (pre-playoffs) that I enjoy re watching sports more than seeing Beltre get hits from his knee.

I guess it depends on how many more guys get injured running into Beltre..

BB wants him at free safety, the closest thing to Rodney he can find
