Did you guys see this at halftime? A fan was talking some shite at the ref and the ref threw a ball at him. When the fan tossed it back the ref had him thrown out! WTF!
If I was this dude I would be making a huge stink about this! I smell some free luxury box seats coming his way!

Are you sure that they threw him out? From what I saw on tv and what the announcers said, it seemed like the ref asked security to throw him out, but they didn't.
Either way, unless the trash talk he was yelling at the ref was highly offensive and obscene, there's no way that guy should have been thrown out. The officiating has been much better in this series than the Cleveland one, but in that instance, the ref lost his cool and was unprofessional.

the officiating has been better because there is no league icon that the refs need to try to push through to the next level.

Willie Buie, father of Celtics' Marquis Daniels is Tasered, arrested during playoff game
May 19, 2010 | 1:57 pm
The father of Boston Celtics guard Marquis Daniels was Tasered and arrested during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Orlando Magic at Amway Arena late Tuesday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Orlando police arrested Willie L. Buie, 55, and charged him with resisting arrest with violence.
A spokesman for the Celtics told the Sentinel that he's in the process of getting information about the incident.
Police reports show officers responded to a disturbance in sections 106-107, the seating behind the basket around 10:55 p.m. EDT.
Officers tried to escort a man, later identified at Buie, from his seat, but the man refused.
It's unclear what prompted officers to remove Buie from the arena.

Boston Celtics player's stepfather Tased, arrested at Amway Arena
The stepfather of Boston Celtics' guard Marquis Daniels was Tased and arrested during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals at Amway Arena late Tuesday.
Orlando police arrested Willie L. Buie, 55, and charged him with resisting arrest with violence.
A spokesman for the Celtics confirmed the relationship but did not want to comment about the incident.
Police reports show officers responded to a disturbance in sections 106-107, the seating behind the basket around 10:55 p.m.
Officers tried to escort a man, later identified at Buie, from his seat, but the man refused.
Police say Buie responded by saying, "I'm not going, (expletive) you."
It's unclear what prompted officers to remove Buie from the arena.
When several other officers arrived to help, Buie continued to resist them. He was finally escorted out of the arena and to an area near the security office, reports show.
Once there, officers forced Buie to the ground and tried to handcuff him, a report shows. Buie kept his hands under his body and refused to be handcuffed, officers said.
That's when an officer pulled out his Taser, put it up against Buie's back and shot electricity into him for five seconds, the report shows. After he was stunned, Buie put his hands behind his back and was handcuffed.
Tuesday was not Buie's first arrest, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Records show Buie has a long criminal history, including a second-degree murder arrest out of Polk County. He served 11 years in prison and was released in 1989, according to the Department of Corrections.
Daniels, 29, grew up in the Parramore area and quickly became a basketball star at Edgewater High. For his senior year, he attended Mt. Zion Christian Academy in Durham, N.C. He played at Auburn University before going pro. This is seventh season in the NBA and his first playing for Boston.

The ref lightly tossed the basketball to him. Maybe he was trying to give him a a souvenir if he'd shut his pie hole. But yeah, he handled that wrong.

Another use of a taser when there was no need for it.
I was thinking that, until I read that he'd spent 11 years in prison and had been arrested for 2nd degree murder - then I figured that it's more possible that he could have been genuinely out of control.
Though I do think the tasers are overused - it was intended as an alternative to lethal force.

This is ridiculous.
NONE of you put your life on the line with the job you do.
How does this officer know if the unruly guy has a weapon or not?
When you are given a directive from an officer of the law it is not your right to object or disagree.
If you do, expect a taze. Or a significant a$$-whoopin'.
I've never seen a situation where a guy followed direction in a civil manner with respect and suffered repercussions.

I agree, if you are acting like an untamed animal expect to be treated as such.
I am sure if this was unjustified the crowd around him would all be on good morning america claiming his civil rights were violated - we have none of that which leads me to believe he got what he deserved
