I hope one of those is when the Amish guy gets stranded in New York....
Wojo: So what's your day like?
Amish Guy: Wake up, feed the chickens, milk the cows, get some water, chop wood, plow a few acres,
Wojo: Then what?
Amish Guy: (short pause)... BREAKFAST.

How does it compare to "Next Stop, Nowhere," the classic Quincy episode that warned of the dangers of punk rock?

"It's a helicopter, and it's coming this way. It's flying something behind it, I can't quite make it out, it's a large banner and it says, uh - Happy... Thaaaaanksss... giving! ... From ... W ... K ... R... P!! No parachutes yet. Can't be skydivers... I can't tell just yet what they are, but - Oh my God, Johnny, they're turkeys!! Johnny, can you get this? Oh, they're plunging to the earth right in front of our eyes! One just went through the windshield of a parked car! Oh, the humanity! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement! Not since the Hindenburg tragedy has there been anything like this!"

I have the first season on DVD but have never seen any others seasons anywhere. I understand that seasons 2 & 3 were released but I haven't seen them. I'd buy up every season if they were out there. I think that the DVD releases got lost in the mix and put on the back burner unfortunately.

Barney Miller is a comedy television series set in a New York City police station in Greenwich Village that ran from January 23, 1975 to May 20, 1982 on ABC. It was created by Danny Arnold and Theodore J. Flicker. Noam Pitlik directed the majority of the episodes.
Captain Miller tries to remain sane while leading the 12th Precinct's detectives: crochety, nearing-retirement Jewish-American Philip K. Fish, naive but goodhearted Polish-American Stanley "Wojo" Wojciehowicz, ambitious, arrogant African-American Ronald Nathan Harris, philosophical, wisecracking Japanese-American Nick Yemana, and Puerto Rican Chano Amanguale. He also has to deal with his unapologetically old-school superior, Chief Inspector Frank Luger, and diminutive (and obsequious) Officer Carl Levitt, who passive-aggressively badgers Miller constantly about being promoted to detective. Amanguale was replaced by intellectual Arthur P. Dietrich from the third season on.
The show's focus was split between the detectives' interactions with each other and with the suspects and witnesses they detained, processed, and interviewed. Some typical conflicts and long running plotlines included Miller's frustration with red tape and paperwork, his constant efforts to maintain peace, order, and discipline, and his numerous failed attempts to get a promotion; Harris's preoccupation with outside interests, mainly his novel, and his inability to remain focused on his police work; Fish's incontinence and reluctance to retire; Wojciehowicz's impulsive behavior and love life; Luger's nostalgia for the old days with partners Foster, Kleiner and Brown; Levitt's (eventually successful) quest to become a detective; and the rivalry between the precinct's resident intellectuals, Harris and Dietrich.

Saw a Barney Miller episode the other day where dialog between Yemana and Harris went something like this:
Yemena: "Hey Harris, I got two tickets to the Jets/Tampa Bay game this Sunday."
Harris: "Why?"
Yemana: "They were half-price."
Yemana: "Do you want to go?"
Harris: "No way. Statistic show sporting events have the worst crime. Muggings, beatings, mob violence."
Yemana: "There won't be any mob at this game."

I got season 3 & 4 so I have the first three. The company offering the full set seems shady to me so I decided to wait for the real releases.
