Friendly note to Saints fans

What follows is an opinion of a poster who terminally hates Jets fans and is often tough on visiting posters, though certainly not all of them.

Dear Saints fans,

Our teams are two of the best teams in the NFL. There's a decent chance that they'll be playing again in Miami in early February.

Our teams are not natural rivals.

There's really not a lot of hate between our teams, organizations and fanbases, if any.

Many Pats fans (including this one) were in your fair city for what many of us consider the greatest single game in Patriots history (SB 36) and the locals were very gracious hosts.

We both have QBs who are on virtually everyone's list of the top 3 in the NFL. Some may argue for Rivers or Ben or even Favre, but my own view is that our guys are both easily in the top three at this point.

The game on Monday night has the making of an epic battle.

Given all that, it would be great if your posts could be of the non-smack talking variety. There's really just no need for pissing matches or references to SpyGate. It's not that we're over sensitive about that topic; it's that it's frankly boring by now. Nothing new could possibly be said about it.

And other smack talk is just boring, too. You might hate the Pats because they've been big winners but please, even that's cliche. As for me, I don't remotely hate the Saints and can't imagine getting into it with Saints fans over a rivalry that doesn't exist.

So, bottom line, from one poster's perspective, I look forward to the discussions and hope you can manage to avoid the nonsense.

I've been trying sice about 7:30 yesterday, but can't come uop with a single reason to hate on the Saints or their fans. :banghead:


They even have some formaer Patriots that I really liked when they were here. Evans (injured), Eckel, Thomas.......


I'm not a real big fan of Shockey, but he's a minor annoyance at best.

Yea.. Although they haven't been terrible.. Katrina jokes can still really hurt people that were severly effected by the storm.

I've never had any dislike for the Saints either. In fact, I almost always find myself rooting for them when watching impartial games. I think I like them more as of late for the whole San Diego/Brees factor.

On one of our Saints boards we hold Miss October, November, December for best looking Female Avatar. October was Halloween Babe month, November is School Girl Month and December will be Christmas Babe. We started this in the offseason with RedHead Month. It was a big hit. Since then, we haven't lost except for 1 preseason game nobody played in.

This is my current avatar for November. She actually was tied for Miss November. On this board, we allow our avatars to be a lot bigger!!!

I'm surprised at that actually. That shit is not even remotely funny. My heart, like most people, bled for you guys and it awesome to see that so much has been rebuilt.

I have always loved New Awlins and the Saints (possibly the best uniforms in the NFL). Lived there until I was seven years old and nothing but great memories of my friends and my parents' friends. Monday should be great.

Just a note though, If you go to SaintsReport and say anything negative you will get flamed. I don't know if its because we are having a good season or what, but the guys over there have seemed to become extremely sensitive this season.

I am not a member of BlackandGold, so I have no idea what goes on over there.

No hatred here. I actually like the Patriots team and I believe this will be one of the best games of the year. Win or loss will mean nothing for these two franchises since we are from different conferences. As far as for the people making Katrina references for there own sick twisted ammusment go f#%* yourseleves people actually died, I know, I have some realitives that died as a result of Katrina.

I apologize if I offended anybody about the camera or the spygate jokes, we all know that is BS. I surely didn't expect the amount of below the belt Katrina jokes from Pats fans. Like I said on another post I heard it all on other teams forums and for some reason when the Saints have success there is always one sicko fan that takes a tragedy and jokes about it for there own ammusment. I don't believe all Pats fans are like this and I know they are some real classy ones.

If I have anything to dislike about the Saints, it's simply the way Sean Payton gave Mike Bell all the goalline carries yesterday. That ripped my heart out, as I had Pierre Thomas and lost my fantasy game this week by 1.2 effing points!

Other than that- always liked the Saints as underdogs- especially in 1987 when they made the playoffs for the first time under Jim Mora.
