Replacement for Seymour next season?

maybe if he adds about 20 more pounds. Not sure I like a 280 pound DE in a 3-4.

Strength and explosion is far more important than 20 lbs, 4-5 of which would just be bodyfat in all liklihood.

The kid weighs 288 right now. I gotta think he could easily be at 300 before the season started. I believe Seymour was kind of in the same boat when he was drafted.

I would just him to get a bit more weight on him, but that could inpact his quickness so who knows.

Replacement for Seymour next season? That's the thinking among draftyniks. NFL Draft Scout compares him to Ty Warren. I think as long as fans don't set expectations as high as Seymour, Gilbert will prove to be a starting caliber DE.

Evander "Ziggy" Hood is also coming in for a visit... What's the "Husker" Alk scouting report there? I see him as a heavier Jarvis Green who can either start or be an excellent passing down DE.

I've got to admit. The Nebraska/Mizzou game was so freakin' ugly last season I had a hard time paying much attention.
