I dunno, I think he made some good points. He hates BB personally, but that's nothing new.

And he ignores the possiblity that Brady and Cassel could BOTH be really good, just like Montana and Young were BOTH really good.

But I don't think the perspective that Cassel's success is a testimony to the Pats' system is INSANE.

I used to like Easterdouche, but I haven't gone near his column since Spygate.

Brady without talent around him was great. Brady with talent around him was insanely great. Cassel with talent around him is turning out great. That's about all the facts we have right now.

We do have to admit... in hindsight, Randy Moss made Daunte Culpepper look really good.

That is soooo insulting and offensive.
He must have green blood.

I agree.

If he can't watch Brady play, and understand that that level of greatness just isn't matched...I don't know what to say. I mean, I can watch Cassel play and see a fundamentally sound QB with good tangible skills. I watch Brady play and see a guy who is dictating what happens in the game.

I don't disagree with what you say, except he uses (imo) what they call in the courts "colorable claims" for the purpose of creating chit. What you leave out is that what he's doing is saying is Brady's not that good if Cassel can do it too. We're back, after all these years to TB and MC are "System" Quarterbacks.

If you aren't a little offended, you're not trrying hard enough. :)

What is stupid about this system thing is...where did this system come from? I mean where was it? Can anyone tell me abou tit? Does any other team have a system? Are all systems bad? Why would the pats have to fall apart to make brady great? Going from 16-0 and 8 offensive records to 7-4 and fighting for a playoff game is not a drop? He makes no sense at all in this article as usual and this is an attempt to stir crap up as usual.

If BB had this wonderful system where the most mediocre of QBs could come in and excell, they would not have paid Tom Brady when it came time to write his "big contract."

Simple economics. Look at Denver. In their "system" RBs are all but disposable. I get the impression they just have vending machines that pop out a RB when the current starter gets hurt or his contract is up.

Besides, the whole concept of a "system QB" is stupid in the first place. Other positions, possibly, but not QB.

Now, you might have a system that fits your QBs skills, but that's not the same thing. That's called good coaching (putting your guys in positions to prosper)

I think most teams tend to run their offense to the Qb's skills, at least the good ones too. The colts are not calling for manning to take off running on every third play last I checked. I mean there is only so much you can do different. the QB gets the ball he finds the open receiver, etc etc. I'm not sure the special system that can make you hit receivers or read the defense and such, its just one of those stupid arguments that cannot be proven in anyway so its said to diminish. Its like saying a team is lucky, that way you have given a reason for their success that does not have to be proven, but in turn took all the credit away from them as well. Can someone please tell me how a defensive minded coach who barely pays attention to teh offense can have a system that can make a Qb who would normally not be good into one of the best of all time? What is different? Any coach will tell you, the game plan means nothing if you dont have the players to run it.

:D

Actually, fun with numbers, Manning only has one less career rushing touchdown than captain scrambles, Mike Vick, and twice as many as Mr Moody, Vince Young.

Whats actually sad, is that Vince only has two more passing touchdowns than Manning has Rushing TD's.

Did you know that George Blanda played until he was 48?! Dude played from 1949 to 1975! That's FOUR freaking decades.

He also holds the record for most extra points kicked with 943! That's almost 100 more than second place (good old morton anderson)

And until the Favruh came along, he was second on the interception list.

Thats cool, not sure what it had to do with what I said. I just mean that manning would not be as good if he was in some wishbone offense that didnt take advantage of his passing skills, I didnt mean to bash his walter payton type running skills he has. ROFL

Poetry in motion. Jim Brown wishes he had Manning's first step, power, and cutting ability.

He's a deceptive running too.

This one game (I think it was against the rams) he faked the hand off to Edge, and kinda hide the ball behind him while edge took off to the right. Well the entire defense also went right (their left) while Manning kinda started jogging towards the endzone all by himself. By the time they actually noticed it, Manning was almost in the endzone over 30 yards away from the original line of scrimmage.

Hands down, the best play fake I have ever witnessed.

Best fake play I have saw was the fake statue of liberty direct snap that brady tucked in his stomach in a spinning air twist and then threw for a td.
