I'm sure this problem is related to the firewall my company uses, but my question is: Why can't I reply to any threads from my computer at work when it allows me to post new threads and edit my profile etc.

To be specific when I attempt to reply - I sit there clocking waiting for the screen to paint and it just stalls and won't paint.

Is there some option that I can set in PatriotsPlanet that could help? I'm on a workstation here at work and have no control over the options it uses for the firewall.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Wow! The system emailed me to let me know you posted here. Cool. Hawg, didn't you have this same type of issue at patriots.com with replies? Does your browser ever time out and give you a 404 error page or anything like that? Or does it just hang eternally? It could be a firewall or proxy server issue, but it really doesn't sound it because you can write text and pictures to this site...it's only giving you problems on replies. Check your security settings in your browser. I probably won't be much help but maybe Austin or Phobia will have seen this type of issue before.

Hawg,

To my knowledge, there is only one setting that can be changed in your account preferences that would be affected by a firewall and that is cookies. If you have cookies enabled they could be blocked or refused by the firewall so you could try disabling them in your account. If are not using cookies try enabling them -- unlikely to help but worth a try. A third possibility is a conflict between the browser settings (reject cookies) and your account preferences (enabled.)

I'll let Austin know about the issue and see if he has any other suggestions or input. In the meantime let me know if these are helpful.

I've seen the problem with WinXP. Couldn't get it fixed either. Doesn't seem to happen on every box either. Weird. I'm baffled.
