Streets would be a welcome addition to our smurf receiving corps and has proven to be a far better contributor than the likes of Donald Hayes. What do you guys think of this? Can it happen with the cap so tight? What would the Pats give up as far as first round draft pick compensation?

I think a first rounder is pricey for Streets. Last year was his first "breakout" year with 72 catches and 756 yards. Before that his numbers drop way off. For a first rounder I think he should be in the range of 1000 yards and 85 catches.
Streets was originally a 6th round pick that has played higher than that. (However, he is an RFA and therefore if he had received a minimum offer from the 49ers they would be due only 6th round compensation. That means they made a high qualifying offer...) A 2nd-3rd round pick would be reasonable and in that perspective you could see the Pats getting second round compensation for Tebucky and then using it for Streets. However, they have only about $440K of cap room right now so they have to deal Jones before they could make a move for another player.
I would love to see Streets in New England for the right price. The Jets were unable to entice him recently and they are faced with shelling out a lot of money for Coles -- so that gives you an idea of the money that they are asking.
