..During the season I conducted pre game prayers that our Patriots would escape each days battle without injury. Some of you joined me in that prayer.
Today, our country is about to embark on a much more dangerous mission.
While I, personally, am opposed to military conflict, I ask that all of you join me in the following prayer.
Dear LORD, as our country, and our allies, are about to embark into a mortal conflict, far from our shores, we ask that you guide, and deliver, our troops in the safest way possible, and that you watch over them, ALL of them, and protect them in whatever way you deem necessary from serious injury, or mortal wounds.
We ask that you guide our leaders to make the right decisions, and that you protect them all.
And, Dear LORD, if conflict should break out, we ask that you protect our shores from further conflict and that you guide us all, and all of our allies, the innocent children of the world, from serious harm.
It is in your name, LORD, that we pray, and in your name that we say...............AMEN

where did my post go? don't tell me, the "holier than thou" moderator took it off because it had a negative attitude towards NEM. i thought this board was not into censorship. i guess i was lied to about that one. there were nothing inappropriate about my post. can someone please explain why it was deleted? thank you.

Hmmm. Well actually Shurkis, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Do remember that there are two moderators and two administrators and any one of them can edit or delete inappropriate remarks or use other remedies. To my knowledge you are the ONLY person who has a had a post deleted -- once by Alice and once by myself. If another post was in fact deleted by an administrator or moderator it would be your third.
Before you go pointing accusatory fingers remember that any member can delete his own post at any time. This will have the consequence of deleting all subsequent replies as well. Perhaps a member deleted their post and yours was deleted as a result.
As for "holier than thou" that hardly describes the actions that have been taken in your case Shurkis. In fact, I think we have been very clear about when a particular post was deleted and why. I would never delete a post without leaving a message to indicate the reasons that it was deleted.
You have violated the rules regarding nudity and you made remarks which I personally found to be offensive to another member. Rest assured that I will continue to delete any such inappropriate content in the future and if our policies create a problem for you personally feel free to exercise your right to leave.
Do not make the MISTAKE of confusing your right to free speech with your rights as they pertain to this forum. This is not your personal soapbox, it is a privately operated website and you have only the rights with respect to this bulletin board that the community here agrees upon.

While this is none of my business, I would like to note that on more than one occasion yesterday (Monday), I typed up a response to 2 different posts and when I hit "Submit Reply" it thanked me for posting, and acted like it normally would. Then, to my surprise, my post did not show up. This happened more than once, so I'm sure it wasn't an ID-10-T error on my part. Maybe this had something to do w/ this.... I don't know.

The post that you deleted was admittedly wrong of me and I apologized. Now when I try to find out what happened to another post of mine you have to reply in this "I am GOD" manner. So, if you think that my views are inappropriate then sanitize me all you want to. I have made no MISTAKE about what my rights are, so don't worry about that.

So you openly admit that you made accusations based on nothing more than your own personal bias and yet are still unable to see your responsibility in the matter. I didn't delete your post Shurkis -- in fact I never saw it. I didn't "sanitize" anything and you didn't POLITELY inquire as to the whereabouts of you post as you imply.
You have not been treated any differently than ANY of the members here so don't play the victim. They have simply, without exception, exercised better judgment. As for "understanding" your RIGHTS here, keep in mind that it is a privilege not a right. Don't wear out your welcome. Hopefully, for your own sake, your understanding is greater than you demonstrate through posts such as the one above. I suspect it isn't.

This is almost totally unrelated, but I just want to know.
NoRespect -- what was the context of the humans coexist peacefully with fish comment Mr. Bush made. I know that it was on Sept. 29, 2000, but I can't find the context it was taken in. What were they discussing. Just curious cause it makes me laugh, but it would be funnier if I knew what was going on. That is the web for you it'll tell you have the story all the time, but rarely can you find the whole story.

I haven't been able to find a transcript. I highly doubt there is one on the net. The context of the remark was a campaign address he gave with the emphasis on energy. (I suspect he was making remarks about hydro-electric power.)
My use of the quote was a play on the Rodney King "Can't we all just get along" speech. I started using it after a particularly heated political flame war broke out. I was amusing myself with the irony of a liberal using a Bushism to make a plea for tolerance -- with the conservative being referred to indirectly as "non-human". Just my twisted sense of humor.
Politics aside, I like Bushisms because in a strange way they are oddly poetic, much like a Yogi Berra-ism. The remarks take on an unintentional depth of meaning.

Those Patsie Trolls, they are terrible. Which reminds me, Tommy said to say Hi. She is really pining for some Pookage. You wouldn't deny her that would you? Even if is she is a Squealer fan. I was over at Loogie's but I didn't post anything. I am still trying to decide on a new angle of attack. The "Killing Them With Kindness" campaign started out as a success but faded. The concept was a good one but the difficulty was staying in character and maintaining the image of propriety. I think I will return as Satanfreude. The Preacher image didn't suit me.

If I'm ever here again to find that you've disrespected a reverent topic such as this one, I'll ban you and make sure you never view this BB again. I don't care that you're disagreeing with a moderator, that's perfectly acceptable. I'm a proponent of free speech. However, I would like to see you apply a little common sense and fight your battles on different topics. No sense defiling an honorable effort such as this one.
