View Full Version : Terrell Buckley Signs with Dolphins
I knew he was going to sign with another team, although I had hoped he would leave the division.

Hey all,
Okay at least we were planning on it right. Now do we get anything for him because I doubt Dolphin picks will be worth very much for the next couple years.

Considering what the Pats have gained in Poole and Harrison, this is not all that bad or unexpected, eh? Tbuck only had 21 tackles last season, but he's pretty solid in coverage. He led the team w/ 12 passed knocked down and tied for the team lead w/ 4 INT's (this number has got to improve next season). I like the guy and hope he does well, just not against the Pats.

Well, if all goes as it did last year, Terrell will sign, be cut sometime during training camp and...once a host of free agent corners we bring in don't pan out...he'll be right back here along with Otis Smith who will -- once again -- rise like a Phoenix.
It's deja-vu all over again.
The Boomerang Corner Effect. The other team just thinks they are their's. A well known ploy. :)
Belichick is also a fan of misdirection. Witness the safety shell game. While teams are busy trying to figure out why we have no less than eight safeties on the roster (although not all are re-signed, yet....) we quietly go out and sign the player we really want -- two or three more long snappers.
The element of surprise is HUGE in free agency. Belichick is so convinced of the need for surprise that he sometimes just signs someone to surprise himself.

Now with this "Boomerang Corner Effect", please tell me this doesn't mean that we are going to be signing Chris Canty in the near future!
I love the misdirection ploy. No one will know as we secretly sign that Junkins guy from the Giants. You know, the LS that performed so admirably for them last year against the 49'ers. The rest of the AFC East will never see it coming. You think Colvin was a huge surprise, wait till we bust this out on 'em.

Check out this quote by Buckley:
''Basically, New England stepped up,'' said Buckley at a press conference in Miami. ''I have the utmost respect for them. They offered more than a one-year deal. It was more money. I just felt like this was where I needed to be because of the championship feeling that is here. I put individual goals aside for that championship.''
HUH? Championship Feeling in MIAMI????

I KNOW! I read that same article. I was rolling out of my chair. ROFL
I thought Buckley had more on the ball than that. If there is one team better to designed to blow playoff games than Miami I can't think of it. He passed up more money for that CHAMPIONSHIP FEELING in Miami!!!! What a dumbass.
If he's from Florida I guess he already likes golf....maybe he was talking about that kind of championship?
