Hey all,

I have a few questions and I know where to turn -- the planet.

I am hoping to come to Boston this summer. I have a few friends up there who may be able to land me some tickets at face value for me to say good-bye to Fenway. I have never seen a game from the park and now I am FINALLY going to. Looks like the end of July for the Jays series (unfortunaly) but maybe in Sepetember if it is worth the wait --

Here are my questions

1) This wretched statement is true right
Boston Herald, 10/5/00: "While Sox management has insisted the team's new ballpark is still on track to open in 2004, sources close to the team have cast doubt on whether such an aggressive schedule is still possible as the team struggles to line up financing for its plans."

Meaning I will be seeing the REAL Fenway when I come right! I missed the Garden's closing and I'll be damned if I miss Fenway too!

2) If I post-pone until Sepetember is there ANYTHING Patriots related I can take part in! Open practice training camp on one of the WEEKENDS that I could head down for! It is damn near impossible to get tickets to see the Patriots play (damn loyal fans) I'd love to catch a BoSox game and Pats experience all at once!

3) I am a real Pats fan! I am trying to direct my g/fs budding journalism career towards Boston so I can live near my team, but there is a HUGE exchange rate problem w/ Canada and the US! If I want to buy a $65 jersey in US dollars it costs me nearly $130 plus tax and duty to get one! Therefore, I ask

Where do you Pats fans recommend I go to get good cheap Patriots gear jersey's, hats, DVDs, panoramic shot of the snow bowl, beer mugs, Tom Brady's snow bow gloves etc. (OK kidding on the last one) but all this stuff cheap as possible. Remeber every dollar counts at a 50% exchange rate in the negative.

Thanks for your help.

Matt

One other thing, is there any chance in HELL of getting tixs to see the Pats in Week 2? I know they are in Philly for Week 1, but if I get tix to see the BoSox and ChiSox in September 13th I would be in town for Sund the 14th which should be the Pats home opener. Is there anyway I could get tickets -- afterall I only use one kidney!!!! I am just speculating dates till the shed is released

That is all,

Thanks again

Matt

Question 1) There will be no new ball park anytime in the near future. As far as I know, all plans are on hold. Too much politics and too much money. What you will see are new seats above the green monster and new video boards.

Question 2) Training camp usually breaks in mid-August. During training camp, the schedule can change day-to-day. Most are open to the public but you need to check the day before to be sure.

Question 3) Not sure about the last one. I get most of my stuff directly at the pro shop since I live near the stadium. Great selection but prices are higher than at typical discount stores.

Finally, the regular season schedule won't be out until mid-April. The Philly game you're referring to is a pre-season game in August, not September.

That is right I forgot it was a pre-season game! Thank-you! You answered all the questions reall well thanks! Now all I need is a list of discount sporting stores and I may find that on the web, thanks again.
