of the kick is today! One year ago the Pats shocked the football world. And Pats fans everywhere celebrated years of frustration and futility.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! :thumb:

You are absolutely correct Sam. Can't believe it has been a year but then in some ways it seems even longer.
Happy Anniversary Patriots!

Thanks for the reminder. Even though it's just football that was one of the happiest memories of my life. I have spent so much time following the Pats through all the ups and downs that seeing them on top of the world was just unbelievably satisfying. I haven't watched my DVD in a while and I just may pop it in if I get some time tonight.
Kind of makes you want to experience the whole thing again. Who knows - the right offseason moves and maybe it will happen again. Stranger things have happened.

It was a fluke, kinda like the Pats whole season.
Thanks for the pleasant reminder, SamBam!! :)
(btw--I wholeheartedly concur with Alice, in that I love to read your posts and wish that you would do so, more often.) :)
I am normally very attentive about remembering things like the anniversary of our SB win, so I am glad that someone was on top of things here! :)
I actually have been meaning to post something about a couple of articles that I read in the Super Bowl Edition of my NFL Insider magazine... There was a really great article on good ol' Adam "Ice in his veins" Vinatieri... Apparently, he is quite the perfectionist and demands it of everyone around him, as well. People can say what they want to about Ken Walter, but I think that he is a keeper! After reading that article, it made me truly appreciate Walter's sure-handedness. Given Vinatieri's high standards, I doubt that he would put up with anything less. The article went on to say that when Adam is warming up on sidelines, that everyone leaves him alone to concentrate, but he always has Walter warm up with him. (Most kickers go warm up by themselves, I guess, which I had never really noticed.) Anyways--these two guys are just a good example of how some of this TEAM is so closely meshed... I know that we can't keep everyone and the off-season will see some changes in personnel, but I hope that we still maintain the lion's share of this great group of guys! :)
Oh, yeah--I forgot to mention a couple of fun pieces of trivia from that article that I mentioned...
Adam Vinatieri is a distant cousin of Evil Knievel...
And for Pookie & DKM-- Adam and his wife bought a house in North Attleboro...
Apparently, his nice new (& well-deserved) contract afforded them this opportunity...
When asked: "What's the one thing that you dislike the most about football?" His answer is that it is the fact that he doesn't get to spend a lot of time with his family hunting & fishing. But keeping that in perspective, he continues on with, "But there will be plenty of time for that later on."
Side note: I wonder if Adam kisses the fish before releasing them?! :)
All in all, it was a pretty cool insight into Adam. I came away realizing that he is a much more intense personality than I had ever thought...
