If you guys knock off the Fins, I am quite sure the Pack will do their part to knock off the Jets.

2 of the things that concern the Pack is

a) Santana Moss. YIKES that guy can fit through the tiniest of seams. :banghead:

b) Field conditions. Where its a natural turf its bound to be in rough shape after the Eagles play there Saturday. (for obvious reasons we are hoping the Giants beat them. ;) )

Hopefully 2 very important things will be in place for your game

a) the Pats are emotionally into this game (sorry but they seemed to lack that intense desire when they played the Jets)

b) the Fins have a rough time handling the cold. Lets not forget that they think anything below 65 is freezing.

Final comment. Nice site (sure beats the one over at Pats.com) and excellent choice of smilies. :thumb:

Glad that you got my message about coming over here to check out the site... I have a feeling that more of our buddies will be do so, as well...
There seems to be a more fun-loving attitude over here and if it ain't fun, why bother? Right?!
I am glad that our two games are not on at the same time on Sunday, as I want to watch them BOTH!! :)
Thanks for the heads-up on the fact that Philly is playing the Giants tomorrow... I am going to try and change a couple of my appointments, so that I don't miss it!
Here's hopin' that both of our teams win on Sunday! :)

Actually, Edna is a die-hard Packer fan... :)
She believes, (as do I), that the Packers have plenty of motivation to beat the Jets... At this juncture in the season, the WILL to WIN can mean more than how one team matches up with the other, on paper...
If the Pack wins, then they are looking to solidify more home play-off games and to date, they are undefeated at home during the play-offs...
We have to do our part by beating the Dolphins first, but once we do that, I think that the Jets will simply lay down for GB... That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
Here's hoping that our Pats have the WILL to WIN on Sunday!
btw--I agree with your assessment about Philly... Andy Reid is definitely a contender for the NFL Coach of the Year Award! And deservedly so! :)

Andy Reid is good. No doubt (and to think he was a Packers coach a few years ago. )

Yes Philly is doing very well. Especially given what happened to McNabb. McNabb should be up and running (no pun intended) for the play offs. I heard he is starting to take snaps again. This of course is unfortunate for Feely (sp?) who has done an exceptional job. (kind of like the Bledsoe/Brady issue of last season)

As far as the Eagles beating the Giants. Well.......they may have their work cut out for them. Fassell has done an excellent job of turning them around. They are playing extremely well right now. Should be a good game.

But as a Packer fan, it would please me so very much for the Pack to not only beat the Jets but for the Giants to beat the Eagles. If that happens, the Pack will have HFA throughout the entire playoffs.

Packers overrated? Naaaaaaaaah. :archive: Peaked early? I sure hope not. But you got to admit with all of their injuries they have faired very well this season.

Speaking of injuries. Whats the status with Brueski? Is he out for the season? Too bad about Graham. He is a good player.

Hey, Edna--
Audrey posted something to me on the other board about BB being pretty tight-lipped about the status of Bruschi... So, it is an unknown, but I would bet that Tedy will be out there Sunday if he can walk! It is all on the line and we need to pull out all of the stops! (Unless of course, if his playing could cause irrepairable damage to his knee.)
Go Pats & then Go Pack! :)

Hi Edna! Nice to see you that you ventured over!

Did I mention that I'm a huge Pack fan for the next 48 hours or so. I hope Glenn has a career day for a couple of reasons.

On that note....Can anybody tell me what we will get for Glenn at the end of the season? I know it all depends on how many catches he makes, yards, blah blah blah.... But who can tell me the specifics?

The Pats can get another fourth rounder (they got one last year already for Glenn -- used for Jarvis Green) if Glenn catches 55 or gets 770 yards. The additional conditions -- 70 catches/1000 yards (3rd round) and 85 catches/1200 yards (2nd round) -- are obviously out of reach.

I don't think that Glenn is going to get to 55 but he only needs 29 yards to get to 770. I think he might do it. The fact that the Jets are playing well means that the Packers might have to throw the ball to win the game.

Hey Pookie! I knew that a new forum was in the making for you guys (thank goodness, the other place is really.......well not as nice as this place and much easier to follow and read) and Peg emailed me to inform me it was up and running. Thanks Peg.

I dug this up for you Pookie

The Packers reportedly will have to give up a fourth-round pick if he catches 55 passes for 770 yards, a third-round pick if he catches 70 for 1,000 or a second-round pick if he catches 85 for 1,200.

Glenn currently has 51 for 741.

I agree with you Falling Alice about the Jets desire, but rest assured, if the Eagles lose today, the Pack will have even more of an incentive to win because that would give them HFA for the entire playoffs. Going to be a good game.

Thanks for the info on the status of the Coach of the Year votes and on the Terry Glenn stuff... :)
Looks like your coach is a shoe-in! :)
I didn't realize that Glenn was so close to attaining the first tier of catches/yards... Only four more catches for 29 yards--that is cool... I was worried that we weren't going to get anything else more for him... Thanks again for the update! :)
You must be pretty psyched that the Giants beat the Eagles, heh?! :)
I didn't see the game, as I am still at the office, but I just read a post by Chowderhead on the other board re: this... We should try to get a quality poster like Chowder to come over here, as well! :)
Go Pats! Go Pack! :)

Thanks Edna and NR... Looks like we need Glenn to get at least 4 catches tomorrow. Now, what if he doesn't?

Peg, you're right, it would be great to get Chowder over here to post his weekly sportsnut article. He's a really good writer. I also wonder what became of ITS_GOOD ITS_GOOD??!! He was a funny dude.

WOW!! What a blast to the PAST!!!
It kind of freaked me out to see this thread on the first page... It was like a deja vu or something... What possessed Uncle Vic to revive this particular thread? It is also kind of weird to read a thread that refers to Falling Alice, but doesn't have her posts in it...
And lastly, I will be eternally grateful to "Edna" for accepting my invitation to join us at the Planet... If you recall, it was because of her being here and posting a thread on the GB raffle of the SBXXXIX tix, that I had the opportunity to win those tickets and watch my beloved Pats beat the Eagles in Jax... Ah, the great football memories start with simple posts, such as this! :thumb: :)
