Here we are, in the 17th week of the NFL season, we are down to a ONE GAME season. All is on the line in this final HOME GAME of the year vs. the Dolphins.
We have been given every imaginable chance to do what had to be done, and as yet have not accomplished the goal.
How many teams would be able to say that they are still in the race, could still win their division, especially after the two most recent, disappointing, and pathetic offensive outputs, in two very key games?
Well, here we are, with a chance to win the division and get a home game in the first round of the playoffs.
Of course, we will need some divine intervention, a little help from the Green Bay Packers. But, because of the Steeler's stunning upset of the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Packers game with the Jets is extremely important. A win by the Packers will propel them into the number 2 seed in the NFC, and give them home field, on their frozen tundra, for the second week of the playoffs and, a win would send them to the NFC Championship game, and, if the Eagles should lose, it would give them home field for THAT game, also.
They have a lot at stake, but of course, so do the Jets.
So, here we are, after 17 weeks of the season, still kicking and alive.
It is too bad that it has come down to the fact that we need some help. But, at least we are alive. And, the good thing is that the Packer/Jets game is the late game on Sunday so the Pats will NOT know the outcome until their game is over.
So, there can be NO excuse, none at all, for not being at the TOP of their game.
There can be NO excuse for the defense to rise to the occasion, there can be NO excuse for the offense not to be given a varied and explosive sort of offensive game plan.
There can be no holding back, none at all.
I, for one, will not accept anything less than a victory this coming Sunday.
I would hope that all of you will, also, accept nothing less.
