With all due respect to our Colt Fan Friends I won't be mainlining the NFL Network 24-7 for the next 2 weeks with the Pats eliminated. So as of right now it's offseason for me.

So the question is, how does everyone deal with the inevitable letdown of the end of the NFL season.

I realized this earlier when I skipped SportCenter and watched The Premiership Highlights on FSN.

I'll do some projects around the house I've been putting off. Try to get some skiiing in, and start thinking about coordinating the Spring Youth Sports seasons. Pitchers and Catchers?, well to me that always sounded a little like a gay porn movie.:D I suppose I'll try to come up with a few prime OT offseason threads.

I figured we could share ideas on how to deal with this.

I Agree BD, its a big dissapointment The Pats are knocked out:(

What Really Got to me was we were 30 mins away from a Super Bowl (Dammit)

Yes, it is Offseason for me too, i will watch the S/B, but obviously wont have a whole lot of interest in it!!

I wonder will it get very Quiet around here aswell?

Easy - pitchers and catchers report in 3 weeks! Bring on Dice-K...

This is definitely the worst time of year for sports fans, once the NFL season is over. Even the Superbowl at this point becomes more of a gathering/party with friends than it is an important football game.

We'll start to gear up now for Spring baseball season with the boys. My oldest is in his last year of eligibility for youth ball and is trying out for the freshman team at the same time, so we'll have a fun spring coaching and playing a lot of baseball. It's just getting to that point where the other sports kick in that's painfully boring.

At least I'll have more time on the weekends now to get the honey-do list knocked out and I'll have more time to practice with the band.

Anybody got any good ideas for a band name? A band that consists of a bunch of mid-life dudes.... as in, I'm the youngest at 38. We thought about "Mid Life Crisis", but that just sounds too cliche'.

Hmm, I'll probably just stick to this board for football news and skip most of the other sites 'til around draft time, and maybe do a little more reading (got the Brady bio, "Moving The Chains" just the other day!) and get back to writing that novel I've been neglecting! :)

My 2 kids (7 and 10 yrs) have baseball evaluations for the Spring league in about 3 weeks. Time to go dig out the gloves and start getting ready for it i suppose. My oldest is playing in his 2nd season of Minors, and my yougest is playing his 2nd season of Coaches Pitch (he played "up" in CP as a 6 yr old)

They also play soccer simultaneously, which makes for some hectic days for us. But they both want to play both sports, and i dont have the heart to make them choose. Actually, if i did make them choose, they'd both choose soccer, and that aint happening :)

I am the asst coach on both of their soccer teams, which i thoroughly enjoy. I have helped out with some coaches pitch teams (coaching a base, or being the dugout dad) but i leave the actual coaching to those who actually played the game.

Take up a winter sport like skiing or snowboarding. Before I started snowboarding I remember how much it sucked to not have any football on anymore. But meh, I can live with it now. I just wish things had turned out differently for us this season. :(

You're confused? I am an Indians fan and loathe the Sox. Now I have to look forward to a season with Keith Foulke and Trot Nixon? How will I cope?

I posted this in another thread, but it is good to repeat it for anyone who missed it.

I would like to thank all of the members here for making this site what it is. We added some fantastic members this year, and if you are a newer member, I encourage you to stick around all during the offseason. We'll have the usual talk of free agency, the draft and mini-camps, but some of the non football talk threads that happen in the offseason are part of what makes this place great. We help each other get through the offseason in a very entertaining way.

Remember we are the #1 rated second class Patriots site on the net!

I've already put football out of my mind until FA kicks in. Normally I shift full on into Sox mode around this time if the Pats aren't going to the SB, but the Wizards are playing great ball (#1 seed in the East Conference right now!), so I have hoops to carry me right now.

For me, no SB, and no sports media until it's over. Don't care, don't want to care.
