And the poster is 100% correct. You guys are a smaller version of kffl, where, if you are not a member of a spercific little group of posters, usually mods and their personal favorites, this Pats forum gives people a feeling of being left out and a feeling that none of you , so called, regulars reallygive a rats patootie about them, which BTW, maybe very true.

If someone just wants to discuss football, and may have a different view, or opinion, some of you REGULARS think its funny to gang up and get down on that person. So, why the hell should they stay, to be ridiculed at over and over again?

I am not speaking of myself. I dont consider myself a new poster, seeing as I joined when the site was just beginning, albeit I dont post much here.

But I have seen some really hateful things posted towards some of the new members, and it really is obscene, vulgar, and really not condusive to bringin in some long term, new members.

You can do whatever you want with this post. You can buy into it, or you can condemn it. It merely is pointing out what some of you just dont see...and it is intended in good faith..as constructive criticism.


But, if you want to be a "baby kffl" then keep doing what you are doing....You wont find many new members staying long time as long as you keep your little, small, private group of posters at a higher level than thjose that come to be a NEW part of this forum.

As far as this forum goes, that poster was 100% on target. This place has gotten away from it's original intent and is now a clone of kffl, which hjas it's own little clique of posters while they make fun of the others.

And that's a realo shame because I remember when this site started, whenit had it's roots..and it was on a par with patsfans.com for being the best fan forum on the internet.

That has changed because of the clique of posters that, on many occasions, think they are better than anyone else...

And that is the pity of it all.

If you are not in the select group, you may as well not even bother.

I am a New Member to this Site and i have visited & spent a bit of time on "Your site" Aswell.

The Guys here have Responded to my Posts and in Fact i have Received Private Messages from some of the Guys here Aswell.

Ya See for me living in Ireland, This is my only Avenue for pats talk & i find the Guys / Mods here to be Very Nice People & Helpfull aswell........

While i Browsed on "Your Site" as a guest i found it to be Very Strict & Clicky so i did not bother to become a member!!!

Sure. They are Pats fans, and this is a Pats fan site. And, I am a Pats fan too, longer than anytone else on this site, from the day they were born in 1959, and played their first games in 1960.

And they came here because the other site was having really bad server problems, and they came here to talk about the Pats, as I did.

And, they all have returned to the other site too, and now have two to post on. WHich is fine.


I do not deserve to be treated this way. My life has been dedicated to the team and their fans, all of them... and if Isay things as I see them, then that is the way I am.... but as far as any animosity towards any other Pats fan, I have none.....

We are all brothers, and sisters, and all with one common end game, and one goal...and to do this to me, this is really hurting me.... Have a nice evening.

Secondly, what started all this crap was a poist that I made when patsfans.com went down, and I came over here, and posted a "tongue-in-cheek- post about this site.

And, I was very careful, at the end of the post, to describe it as humor, and that it was not real, and that it was TONGUE IN CHEEK. Those words could not have been more explicit.

However, some people here got the wrong impression about that post, and immediately began spreading things about me that were far from the truth, and as usual, the anti NEM bandwagon got rolling.

Again, there is no disrespect, merely sometimes I retaliate when things are said about me....And, once again I will say that the post that started all of this was clearly marked as TONGUE IN CHEEK, and that it was not factual.

Now, open your mind to the truth...denism.

The fact that I'm new to posting on the board is irrelevant... As I've said, I'm a long time lurker (to both this thread and PatsFans)... I can read old threads as well as any.

I simply expressed the opinion that I've felt welcome here as a newbie. This is counter to what you said, so naturally you're trying to suck me in and pick a fight with me now.

The fact that I'm new to posting on the board is irrelevant... As I've said, I'm a long time lurker (to both this thread and PatsFans)... I can read old threads as well as any.

FWIW - Regardless if it was done in "tongue in cheek", the comments still were made and resonated in an ill will. I liken it to -

Being in a group of people and making a comment "All (insert ethnic group) are (insert ethnic slur)! Heh, I was only joking! Some of my best friends are (insert ethnic slur).

I assume that parents or older relatives tell us when we are younger "If you cannot say something nice, then don't say it at all"

First of all, I wouldn't be in the position where I would be accused of "dedicating myself" to a sports team or its fans unless it involved how I made my living. Second, if I did do this, I would need to seriously re-evaluate my core values.
