We always try to guess what BB is going to do. Freak posted a thread earlier here (http://www.patriotsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?threadid=10396) that has a nice attachment on what positions BB has drafted by rounds.
Instead of trying to pick the player the Pats will draft, this poll is to try and guess the position. 50 Patriots Planet Points to the winners.

Yeah, sure... I'm still waiting for my "prize" from dkm for winning the The Great Patriots Challenge. :cuss:
Pats first pick.... I think it will come down to who's available. If one of the top 2 ILBs drop then I say ILB. But if those guys are gone then the Pats take the best available CB.

Just to be different and because BB loves his D-Lineman, I'm going with DT and specifically NT. This will be Wilfork's backup in a 3-4 and imagine being able to throw out 4 #1 picks on the D-line in the 4-3.

I voted for DE, but believe that it will be the 'tweener that drops to 32 that will be our guy with an eye to converting him to LB.
David Pollack would be the best candidate, but a guy like Dan Cody or Matt Roth would be in the same ballpark-- first round guys that are a little too small to play conventional DE in the 3-4, but have the ability to pressure the QB that is always desirable.
You can't have too many pass rushers.
Another possibility is running back.
When you think of Corey Dillon you automatically assume that the position is filled, but beyond him.......it gets scary. We have little evidence that Cedric Cobbs is a feature back and we know that Kevin Faulk is not.
I keep coming back to the names Ciatrick Fason and Vernand Morency, possibly because nobody expects we will go in that direction and BB always throws curveballs, but I'll stick with a college DE/pro LB.

Could one of the 25 mods go through the voting history on this thread and tell us WHO the one person was that said they the Patriots would pick an O-lineman?
Thank you:D

I can VOUCH for dchester, in that he guessed it BANG ON yesterday, before the selection... :thumb:
Now don't the rest of us that laughed in Dave's face, feel pretty silly?! I sure do! :o
I was SURE that it would be a defensive player and as mgoblue & Hawg both said, it seemed to me that the best player available at LB/DE ('tweener to be converted to LB) and/or CB, was the likely choice... But, what the heck do we know, eh?! :)
